Another good source feels that the 1Ds4 will be announced in February.
From what's been heard, the 1Ds4 will contain some 7D design features. There were no specifics given.
Electronic level comes to mind for me.
5D Mark II Price Drop
The 5D2 seems to be dropping in price. It's $200 less at B&H. I'm not at home right now to confirm official price drops or dealer rebates.
The Nikon D900 is coming, perhaps that's the reason.

I am quite happy with my 40D, but I do want to go FF, and I want video capability. I’ll wait a few more months and see if anything new comes up with Canon.
I still might get the 7D because I think it’s a great value for a tough, fast, versatile camera. I’ll have a new camera this year, but I’m not in a hurry so I’m hoping something like the rumored 3D, 7Ds(FF version), or 5DmkIII will appear before I pull the trigger.

The 7D also doesn’t allow custom focusing screens….
No, the camera that *needs* an update is the 5DMkII, specifically the AF and lower noise at higher ISOs.
