It's suggested Canon feels they can afford to be more aggressive in pricing and we could see the 1Ds launched in the $5999-$6999 range.
Most people felt the D3x was grossly overpriced when it launched for $8000. The 1D Mark IV would received a price reduction at the launch of a 1Ds Mark IV.

The Canon 300 f/2.8 lens weighs 6 lbs, the 120-300 f/2.8 Sigma zoom, 5.7 lbs, and the Sigma 30 f/2.8 prime, 5.4 lbs.
The Sigma prime should be 300, not 30
Could you please use standard international units of measurements when posting on an international forum? That aside, handling any lens over 3kg is neither comfortable not easy, especially considering added weight of a very solid tripod with something like a Wimberley head. And that aside, I’d rather see Canon concentrate of more common lenses than fairly specialist ones.
I hate HDSLRs as well – no video thanks
