2000D
I'm told the 2000D will have the articulating screen that has been sometimes rumored to be a feature of the 60D.

A few features sent in today. Could be crazy.

– DIGIC V
– A New Liveview/EOS Movie AF system that is much faster than what is currently available.
– Some kind of a rotating grip for making video shooting easier.

No idea what to make of this stuff, it's the first I've heard of any of it.

  1. I can confirm the grip.

I haven’t seen the market-ready grip, but the R&D grip is split hinged horizontally into 2 sections with the buttons(af, shutter) on the bottom section just like the existing grips.

The difference is.. When released, the top section(with batteries) stays attached to the camera, while the bottom section rotates 90 degrees and slides to the center to create a “T” with the buttons now on the top of the new vertical handle. I hope I explained it right.

It will make a ‘steadicam’ type of grip for video and live view with the ability to start/stop video and fire the shutter

  2. i dont mind having a video feature, i wont use it anyway. but it seems canon is focusing more on video upgrades rather than improving the essential features of a camera. there will always be a trade off when optimizing one functionality over the other. and besides no matter how much they upgrade its video features, the form factor will always be problem, the body is just not designed for video purposes.
