The megapixel war is on We were told a while ago about a big megapixel camera coming from Nikon, the date of the announcement was wrong, but it doesn’t appear the camera is. Nikon Rumors is reporting a 36mp D800 coming in the next 30-60 days at a 99% probability. Why does a Canon site care? Lots of people speculated Canon was waiting for a Nikon announcement to decide how to proceed. What’s coming in 2012 Received some info about a “loose roadmap” for Canon in 2012. Two things were noted about 2012. It’s the 25th anniversary of EOS It’s an Olympic year as well as Euro 2012. We will see a DSLR that will be showing for CES/PMA in the 2nd week of January 2012. When the announcement for the camera would be was unknown. A new 1Ds would follow sometime in February. Rumor Roundup ala Planet5D @PlanetMitch over at Planet5D has posted a rumor roundup that touches on Canons events in the next month or so. He’s also invited me to talk live on his site on Monday, October 3, 2011 at 3PM EST.
