  1. 7D a game changer? LOL. Maybe great features on a crammed sensor. It was a brilliant marketing move to sell megapixels and at the same time not encroach on the high priced model sales with too good an image quality. They nailed that one.

Glad they added a built in wireless flash – thank Nikon for that.

  2. Completely agree.

Canon is protecting it’s children. A real innovative company will eat their children.

In the PC world, Intel eats their young every 6 months.

  3. I’m hoping Canon just licenses Nikon equipment and sells Nikon bodies with EF mounts. Problem solved.

  4. You can do a simple test, take one picture at high ISO, and print a small one and a big one. A more simple test, open the same photo in photoshop and see at 100%, at 50%, or 25%, and you can see how the noise will fading away.
Moreover, in the case of the 7D, the noise is more like film grain, which is more pleasant for those who are used to work with analog film.
Repeat the test with a photo at f/22, the same will occur with the diffraction limit, and the lack of resolution of the lens.
But when you go to print a copy, do so with the highest resolution that your camera allows, will be more crisp in the same print size.
More pixels allows you to crop the photo, for a better framing. If you don’t use it, throw it.
