CR's Take *UPDATE*
CCD? and no HD Video?

Dropped rating on this one to [CR2]. The source is solid, I just have a lot of issue with the spec list. The sloppy whiteout on the LCD too.

In favor of being true *UPDATE*
I do notice the grip on the front doesn't match any current G camera. The G7 & G9 didn't have a large grip and the G10's grip doesn't curve down. That would be very fine attention to detail for a hoax.

  1. Hej, yes that’s what I was refering to. Maybe the GX1 will follow in a few weeks afterall.
Didn’t he say also that 2009 would be hot for compacts ? :/

  2. 10mp is great. But Canon better get some wider, fast glass in there or I’m going with the Lumix LX3.

  3. This appears to be the same 1/1.7″ 10MP sensor that is used in Ricoh GR Digital III. Does anyone have a pointer to high-ISO samples from Ricoh GR Digital III?

  4. I wonder what kind of reliable information you offer here? Absolutely nothing. I bet your source is your imagination.

What G11? On some other forums they display 7D fake image.

What a waste of time. Today was supposed to be big annoucement day from Canon. Where is it? Here is the idea: make a site “CanonRumorsAndMySickMindAndBunchOfLoosersWaitingForCanonsFart.com”

  5. As Sebastian says, LESS megapixels give BETTER image quality. Why does anyone need more than 10MP? The glass on a camera of this type does not warrant huge enlargements. What people want is better image quality in lower light situations, for an average print size (e.g. 4X6 or 8X10).

High MP counts are just to sell to novice buyers. Canon reduced the MP in order to respond to the buyers for this camera who understand the difference between MP and image quality (e.g. noise).
