Why Not Update the R3 and Make it a Photographers Only Camera?

I'm a photographer who is not interested in using a mirrorless, full-frame camera for video. I'd like to purchase a photographers only camera. Canon could make the R3M2 for that purpose. Without video capabilities the camera might cost less and not succumb to overheating issues.
Why is this in the Rumors section and not in the Gear talk section?

Canon EOS R5 Mark II Firmware v1.3.0 Available (Sometimes)

Buying a camera on rumors of oversampled 4K seems kinda wild lol. I have an old R8 that can do that. Imo it's overrated, virtually no one will ever notice a difference, if they even happen to watch any video on a 4k monitor.
I am sure everybody remembers about this topic. There were not rumors, but press releases which were (deliberately by Canon, I say) inaccurate. Having said this, I think we should all learn and focus from now on.

Canon EOS R6 V Specs: Active Cooling and more…

Interesting. First time I've heard about this mic. Only a matter of time before the other players, DJI, Røde +++, will release their own too

Here are the Full Canon EOS R6 V Specifications

Yea, those are the other V cameras: V10, V1, R50V and then the R6V. So definitely not 4 cameras coming, just the tally light camera that is part of the V family.

Still hoping for some type of timecode (USB-C port?) and a surprising feature or two, but probably just the R6III with no EVF and the body of the C50 - which sounds pretty darn great to me.

Canon EOS R6 V Specs: Active Cooling and more…

I have seen that lens as an interesting dual use option for both, APS-C (standard zoom, fixed f-stop) and roughly ultrawide for FF.
→ R7 with 20-50 (32-80) + R6 with 100-400 , after lens swap
→ R7 with 100-400 (160-640) + R6 with 20-50
effectively 20 ... 640 mm with a small gap between 80 and 100mm effective focal length ...

But 1400 bucks seems - to me - a little bit to high - except optical image quality is stellar!
As soon as it was reported that it was an L lens rather than an STM series lens, it should have been clear that it was going to be in that range - on par with the 14-35/4. On one level I share your feeling - I was hoping it was going to be a companion to the 16-28/28-70 STM lenses which might have allowed an 899/999 price point. OTOH, it's still in/around the cheapest L series zooms.

Here are the Full Canon EOS R6 V Specifications

Most likely only the one on the right is new, the R6 V. That’s why its tally light is on.

The other three are PowerShot V10, Powershot V1 and the R50 V.

Well that's disappointing if there is only one new model. Putting my optimistic cap on, why should those other three be in shade if they are pre-existing models?

Canon EOS R1 & R5 Mark II Firmware v1.3.0 Arriving Soon

Seems like most people don't even want new features. There are many customization features missing. For me it is all about the EVF. The limitations about its activations and display are extreme. So much stuff on frame that you cannot disable and the hideous proximity sensor that eat up your battery. How are these not priorities?
Completely agree, even with the screen with only basic info selcted, there's some "noise" in the viewfinder that can't be turned off, stuff that one never ever use, and which clutter the viewfinder, so much that one sometimes struggle to find the things that one actually want to see there....
-Not terribly much, but enough to catch the eye, when one tries to find other things, focus distance for example, my eyes always end up on that one when hecking the exposure compensation, and what focal length one is at, and on the back of the screen, I haven't been able to remove the touch shutter icon, despite having deselected it in the menu....

Also, the image in the viewfinder is very hard and over satuated in color, it is a bit odd, because it is an OLED screen we have in there, on the back of the camera it is a TFT screen, which really ought to be of a lesser quality, but the image on the rear screen is A LOT CLOSER to the image that one actually get, than the OLED screen viewfinder....

I’m more interested in the other two cameras being teased… is one going to be the long-overdue G3X replacement - please!! (Or are the other two bodies pre-existing?)
Looks like the silhouette of the V10, V1, R50V and R6V to me. I guess Canon wants to showcase that these are its content creator family of cameras. There is a substantial gap in price and capabilities between the R6V and all these other cameras. (The V1 is absolutely a pleasure to use and own and I highly recommend it to anyone as an ultrawide lens or “dad cam”)

Canon EOS R1 & R5 Mark II Firmware v1.3.0 Arriving Soon

For me, one button toggle on and off of precapture is my main desire, however, faster shutterspeeds in Av (< in Av the shutterspeeds for some odd reason max out at 1/8000th, which is not enough to preserve highlights in a white dress or shirt with f/1.2, in bright sunlight) and a proper (read; not resettable, other than in official Canon repair-shops) pincode security that need to be punched every 24 hour, would both be at least equally important....

Yea, faster shutterspeeds can be found in M mode, but with AutoISO enabled, it is for one thing nearly impossible to keep the ISO near 100/below 200, and for another, it is VERY easy to accidentally end up at ISO 4000 in bright sunshine and f/1.2, if there suddently is an image to be captured in the shade, been there, done thát, latest this weekend....;- /
-Possibly the problem is that the R5.2 change shutterspeeds in full stops above 1/8000th, but on the R1, that doesn't happen until 1/16.000th, so at least the R1 could have up to 1/16.000th available in Av, but, I can't see that the shutterspeed changing in full stops should be much of a problem, if AutoISO is enabled...???

And I HAVE set up the C1-3 with Av, M and Tv, and with precapture on, but I got other things that I would like to use the C1-3 for, so being able to assign a button to toggle Precapture on and off, would be perfect....

And as I wrote here earlier, it is really stupid that the +/-and WB buttons on top of the R1 aren't programmable, very few people use them, and they are placed perfectly, in terms of easy access....

Here are the Full Canon EOS R6 V Specifications

The latest teaser from Canon in my inbox indicates four new cameras. I'm assuming the one on the far right is the R6 V. Next to it is something that looks similar to their R50 V. On the far left could be an update to the Powershot V10. None of those if remotely accurate will impact my bank account. But the one second from left could be a new Powershot G3/5X camera which does interest me. The only caveat for me, is it must have a built-in viewfinder. I use my G5X Mark II regularly and invariably need to use the viewfinder under daylight conditions. Oh, and please keep the panorama features which really does a great job, delivering highly detailed images with minimal artifacts.
What are the chances that at least one of these will have a decent viewfinder for us older folks??

Show your Bird Portraits

The ornithologists usually know the scientific names of the birds (for sure the names in the group of birds in which they specialize...). The problem with the common names is that they are frequently ambiguous. For one who doesn't have the English as a primary language it makes a kind of burden: So many times I have to search in the Internet via the Latin name in order to recover the common name (in English!) in my memory (old man😞 ...). Many times the common name in English is popping up before I can recover the scientific name (go figure it :))!
Never mind! Today the clouds above the mountain were looking pretty hostile and I went to my favorite Botanical garden - to check if the gardeners are still keeping the barriers around the nest of the Japanese White-eye and how the birds are doing. Surprisingly for a fraction of the second I noticed a hatched bird trying to get food from the arrived parent (I missed the exact moment!!!). It seems I (we) can see fledglings in 10-14 days!
After that White-rumped Shama and Red-whiskered Bulbul.

That's a MUCH better view of the Red-whiskered Bulbul than I was able to get in Vietnam!

At my house, there is a robin's nest on a flood lamp fixture. It's just above an upper floor bedroom window, these are 'blind' iPhone snaps with my hand held outside the top of the double-hung window.

The image below is not that nest, but another one nearby in a more natural setting.
