Nice! I have no idea where you are taking these photos but combination of Cassin's Kingbird and Casaurina sp. (Australian Iron wood or Australian Pine - that is not Conifer at all...) is telling me Southern California (probably coastal)?

Yep! Be like Nike. Just do it. I've appreciated all of the improved/missing lenses I've purchased. Plus you've got growing reasons to enjoy it now.

I agree. I moved it to the edge of the frame.

That 600 f/11 has very warm color rendering. Nice in cold weather.

I just received my first mirrorless camera, and I would like to use this thread to post questions as they pop up. I do not have any SD cards at the moment, so I cannot play with the camera too much yet. I do have some micro SD cards and an adapter, but I discovered in the user manual that it was not recommended. Of course, "not recommended" is not the same as "DO NOT USE A MICRO SD", so I was curious if this is really something to not do, even if it is to just have the ability to take a few pics while I am waiting on the regular SD cards to arrive???

I went out looking for eagles. I saw 5 or 6 but no good shots so I settled on these. Colors are a bit strange because

there was a red boathouse reflecting in the water.

The EF 800mm f5.6 is a seriously sharp lens, embarrassing the current RF by some margin. The only issue with it is that it won’t hit H+ in 1st curtain shutter, it’s limited to 8fps unless the cam is in ES.
The EF 200 f2.0 lis has been on my wish list for longer than I care to admit. I’ve nearly bought it so many times!
Im thinking that the RF 24mm f1.4 VCM might be my first RF lens, followed by a RF 50mm f1.2 L. I think they are both exceptional lenses and are missing from my current lens compliment. I think the 50L for my portraiture work is a good fit for me. I love my current my current 35/85 combo, but having a 24/50 option would be nice in tighter spaces.
I can see a RF 70-200 2.8 LIS at some point too, the size / weight and versatility of this type of lens puts it quite high on my wish list.

First with EF 100-400 L II. Second with RF 600 f/11. Both R7.

Hard Night. BLEAH!!!

Pushed one stop from ISO 6400, but the 600 f/11 has enough detail for the noise reduction to work very well. Delightfully light (and sharp) lens, but MFD is a little long for this application. This shot is right at the MFD limit (I had to lean back to get the bird in focus). The upside of f/11 is almost all the bird is in focus

The idea of a RF 300-600mm f/4.0-5.6 is very appealing or better still a 200-500mm f2.8-4.0 preferably with built in extenders
Really would like something bright enough for rainforest bird photography but more affordable than the likes of the 100-300 f/2.8 and 400 f/2.8
