Of course it depends a lot on the camera(s) you have, but IMHO that software sits in the small region between people having "simpler" needs, suually addressed by a webcam, and those who have more complex setups but also the HW/SW to manage that (and may not use only Canon cameras). While Canon in the past didn't make cheap AC power for its cameras - with USB power that may change now.

The R7 together with the dedicated smallrig cage is still smaller than most full frames and allows you to prepare with the rig for situations that differ from whats conviniend with a naked EOS.

Ok, i will wait and see if there will be that R7 II or not, i prefer to get R7 II later than R7 now/soon and i will upgrade it later.

Godox has announced the Godox AD400Pro II, and it's now available for sale. I'm a firm believer in Godox because I think that Canon has dropped the ball on all things flash-related. I'm personally not sure why Canon doesn't just get a contract with Godox and rebrand their stuff under the Canon brand name.

Insta360 has announced the Go Ultra, the latest in its line of action cameras. This actually looks decent, as do most of Insta360 products. This camera fits in with the Go lineup's modular design and allows use with or without the action pod. The camera itself has a fair amount of decent upgrades, so I guess it deserves the "Ultra" but can we come up with another naming convention soon?

Google Gemini is sometimes used to get headline suggestions when mine are too long.

Google Gemini is sometimes used when a sentence or paragraph structure doesn't flow properly. Once I/we get some suggestions that are better, we'll use that as a template by using our own language. I am not a "journalist", "author" or "writer".

Grammar and spellcheck are done by Microsoft Word in my case.

There is nothing content wise that is AI generated that I know of.

We use a custom built meta-analysis tool to detect AI, as there are always outliers. There isn't a lone tool online that is accurate above about 70% that we have ever found.

I'm also mostly concerned about 5, and it's good to hear you don't want AI generated content.
But now you mention the background header images (1), I have to say the give they site a very cliché or bad-taste look in my opinion (it was much worse a week or two ago than it is today, though).
But, still... The actual content is of course the most important

I had a Canon A75 and A570IS. I wish I still had the A570IS! It was small, easily fit into a pocket and was great to use for general photos and easy to pack for traveling. It did eat batteries but AAs are cheap and easy to find. If they made another one, I would buy it in an instant.

One of the more intriguing rumors was the Hasselblad X2D II, and the press announcement does give us some more details that make the system a little clearer. It does indeed appear as if the Hasselblad X2D II will have some form of LiDAR built into the camera, but only to assist with focus, not as the primary focus method. This is somewhat what I suspected, that LiDAR couldn't do everything normal phase detection could do.

Agreed. This is the first time ever that Nikon has been in first position for this metric. They didn't do this near the realease of the Z9 or Z8. This is clearly due to high sales of the Z5II.

Not boycotting, still using my EF lenses including a couple of Sigmas. The real problem is these new lenses wont work on EF mount, so maybe now I am boycotting Sigma.

I do not expect a Version II of the RF 50/85 1.2-Lenses because of this or that "weekness". There have been EF-Lenses with some weekness, which were not replaced or updated by Canon for Decades:
* EF 50/1.4 (soft wide open)
* EF 85/1.8 (excessive purple fringing wide open)
* EF 50/2.5 Macro (slow AF)
* EF 200/2.8L (no weakness for the price ...)

Canon's 2007 patent on sensor substrate separation (stacked sensors) is there for anyone to read. Decades ago. We're on tripple stacked sensors and 20 stops of Dynamic range image sensors, Canon and Apple.

I'm glad discussions are back! I guess I'm not a super-zoom person either. I used to pair ef-m 11-22 with ef-m 55-200! I know it doesn't count as a superzoom. My first 55-200 started giving errors after a Miami trip and lots of sandy days before that. Nowadays, I'm commited to a super-tele instead (180-600) while having my old 11-22 on my m6ii. I avoid swapping lenses at the beach!

It doesn't seem to me that IBIS helps on the R7; it's more difficult to get a sharp shot at 300 mm wide open than with the R5 and RF 100-400 at 400 mm wide open (this combination works fantastically well in my experience). Disappointing.
