I just put my r6 mark 2 which I made the setting 1.15, and I filmed in 4k 50 ipb best quality and I was able to film up to 1H 18 without problem I was just at 3 bars of heating, it is the limit of the card which stopped me, could canon have fixed something? it must be said that the part was at 18 degrees I think but it's cool right

I've read that. I know the bit count drops in any other mode than single shot. I would never use this camera in burst mode.

Most definitely, the best £2000 my grandad ever spent (60 years ago) was our shack at one of the best snorkelling places around (ok, so Rapid Bay is just around the corner but that's more of a swim from the beach to the good stuff). I wish I'd met the guy to thank him, but he had angina and loved his early-morning fishing so died down there 10 years before I was even born. Anyway, Blobby is due early Jan so if we're lucky with the weather in sMarch it might get its first dunking down there (you can chuck a 2 month old in the ocean yeah?), at the very least it's going to spend most summers down there just like I did as a kid.

But yeah, might have to forego the hours-long trips we sometimes do together. At least for the first summer or two we might be limited to single-trips only while the other one stays on the sand or just splashes around in the shallows (unless we get a nana-babysitter to keep it company for a few hours).
But the good thing about the bag-housing is that we can use it to just take photos of the kid having fun in the water even without snorkelling.

So it'll probably get more use out of the water for the first year or so, that's kind of more why I'm looking for above-water specs too, like IBIS.
I know there's always the 'just wait and see what they announce next year and buy something then' option, but part of me wants to get something sooner than later for baby photos etc (I'm well planning some MF and 8x10 portraits etc, but wouldn't mind some digital ones too, more different media means less chance of losing the whole damn lot in a fire, plus I don't think I'll have that much time to develop or get scanning done, let alone set up the enlarger and mix chems).

So that was really the crux of what I was thinking, if there's no chance of anything cheaper with IBIS coming any time within a year then there's not much point waiting (R7ii might not be as affordable as a used R6 and might not make used R7s much cheaper either).

So I know that leans more towards getting a 6 over a 7, at least being able to use the 15-85 in crop mode saves having to buy new WA glass, but at that point 34MP of the R7 does start to look a slight bit better than the cropped-to-8MP R6

Does that still hold true for an IS lens with the lens-IS turned off? (or is there some stupid firmware dealie where that switch turns off IS as well?) OK, so answered that myself, looks like you can't turn lens-IS off and still have IBIS on. Doesn't anyone make an EF-RF adapter with a MITM-style attack to make it look like it's got no lens-IS? Might be one of those YMMV depending on individual lenses (seeing as you mentioned two macro lenses, is it worse only close-up or at infinity too?)
At any rate, all I've got with lens IS are 15-85 and 70-300L, the rest are non-IS primes. So that might be a case of try it and see...

To me, that could be the reason why we don't get closer to the actual throughput of CFe 2.0. "DAVISION" (German Youtuber) compared CFe cards (MLC vs pSLC ?? - not 100% sure) and how they impact R5m2 overheating in video mode, with codecs / formats that don't tax the sensor that much. Besides 8K and 4K120P, the pSLC cards would last 20% - 30% longer before the camera would shut down.

Not sure if CFe 4.0 cards will show better thermal behavior or things get even worse.

What about colors in comparison with R5?

Dual nano USM FTW (the lens focuses fast and accurately).

Camera is absolutely fantastic. Shot sports all weekend. About 15k pictures.
Little learning curve at the beginning, but the results are just perfection.
Autofocus is super sticky. Multiple people can cross your field and the camera is still just glued on the player with the ball.
40fps with pre-capture is probably overkill. It’s a ton of images. But I think by the end of the weekend I got it figured out about how long I need to click to get the shots I wanted.

There are programs out there that can read it, but I am not certain to their level of verbosity like I am with Autopsy or other forensics programs (all of which are prohibitively expensive).

Indeed, sir. You are absolutely correct. Any person can pick up a camera and just use it in any way and if they are personally satisfied with the results for them, then voîla!, they then have a result that is good for them personally and who's to argue that they aren't satisfied with it? After all, that's what the "A" is for on the camera settings. Absolutely agree.

I don't know which "very best photographers" use/d cameras this way - I know for sure some one like Ansel Adams isn't one as I've read many of his books over the years and he never mentions this as it's rather the antithesis of his work and teachings- but since I don't know every best photographer, or what constitutes this particular definition of "best photographers," I'm happy to agree with you that there must be some kind of "best photographers" (broadening the term "photographer" here rather widely) out there who do reject all basic photography theory, concepts, techniques and rules in their work. Of course, that would mean, like any artistic master in the last 2,000+ years in any field in the East or West, they are in fact masters of ALL the theory, concepts, techniques and rules and as masters, they then know which ones to counter, break with or leave out and when and why and how to do so. And since I'm in full agreement with you here then, there's not much more to say on this subject, mom ami. Au revoir.

I have left a fully charged battery in my EL-1 for months and have not seen much if any battery drain, seems odd to me that yours does.

Yes mine locked up. I reset all the custom setting / factory reset. Then I installed the latest firmware (again in my case). Seems to work now.

Portrait mode not working? Bummer! Let's try a few things. First, make sure you're using the rear camera, not the front-facing one. Portrait mode usually works best with the main camera.
Next, check the lighting. Portrait mode relies on good lighting to create that blurred background effect. Try moving to a brighter area or using a light source to illuminate your subject.
Also, make sure you're far enough away from your subject. The ideal distance is usually a few feet.
If none of these tips work, try restarting your phone. Sometimes, a simple reboot can fix weird glitches. You might also want to check for software updates. Sometimes, updates can improve camera performance.

Portrait mode not working on iPhone

I have a GFX 100 and can shoot 4K at 24 or 30 fps. Why would a dedicated video camera not have at least the same specs as the still camera?
Go look at the specs on B&H or the Fuji website.

I'm REALLY interested in this...BUT, I'm hoping they offer a "sticks only" version of this...without the fluid head.

I have plenty of area Swiss ball heads, one of which I'd like to attach to this....

Hope they consider this on new models...

Get a EF 135mm with EF 2x TC on EF-RF adapter with a RF 2x TC and RF camera.

For a couple years in Zurich my backpack always had a Contax G2 with 28/2.8, 45/2, and 90/2.8. I did really like the 45. 50 does feel a bit tight or tele. 45 maybe a tiny tiny bit too, maybe 40-42 is "normal" for me? I think SLR's settled on 50mm as it left a lot of room for the flipping mirror, while for rangefinders you could do anything from 35-50 about as easily so it was more a question of what the designers wanted and less of what would fit.

The-digital-picture is completing their review of the Canon RF 70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM Z Lens. They have added their test results and think this is the sharpest zoom that Canon has ever made.

My 24-105mm f4 was probably my most prolific lens with my son growing up. Followed by my 70-200 f2.8. I tried to keep the camera ready for action with 1/500 or faster shutter speeds and FPS as fast as possible. I almost always kept the camera on Auto ISO so I could adapt quickly indoors or out. Kids are sports...
