Short answer - no. Not possible

Fuji x-mount has a flange distance of 17.7 mm. The lens need to sit there from the sensor focal plane

Canon RF is 20 mm. EF is 44 mm. There is no way an x mount lens can sit at those distances and still focus across its range

Besides, x mount is also crop format, so it won't fill the whole imaging circle.

Given those constraints, it's counterproductive to even attempt doing this

The RF 50mm f1.4 L VCM is now (november 8) on Canon’s supply status page (link to google translated post). As are the RF70-200mm f2.8 L Z in both black and white.

Worthy competition for R10. And hopefully R7ii R10ii will be out next year to up the game.

I'm surprised Nikon not giving IBIS.

This comment is telling. SLR's were approximately 15% of the market in 2023 and currently around 12% of the market in 2024. If the main segment buying them are elderly then they probably won't be upgrading to mirrorless in the future.

Lenscoat has a cover for the RF200-800mm. Like the cover for the RF100-500 this has a ‘sleeve’ to cover the extending part of the lens. I have the cover for the RF 100-500mm and cannot recommend it:

• It is hard to put the sleeve over the extending part of the lens.
• The sleeve moves over the extending part of the lens, preventing zooming back to 200mm.

I use a lenscoat raincoat for camouflage when in photographing from a hide.

I do fear for smallrig. I love their kit, it is really well made and well priced. I have quite a few of their small items as well as clams and video lights. What worries me is just how big their portfolio has grown. I have seen quite a few companies fall into the trap of trying to make everything for everyone the latest being a PC water cooling company. I am just not sure how sustainable it is to have so many SKU’s and all the tooling to make them etc. I really hope I am wrong as I do like all the products I have from them.

The port protector comes with the camera. (if you purchase new).

I'm excited about it...and I think I'm WAY too old to be a "hipster"....but then again, I dunno exactly WTF that is...I remember hearing that term years ago, but not in recent history.

I love my digital, but I also love my film cameras.....Hasselblad V series...Yashica Mat 124G, just picked up a Mamiya C220....and my beloved Shen Hao 6x17 view camera.

These are fun and some do things a modern digital camera cannot do....the widelux with its swining lens panos, is definitely one of those things you can't really replicate in digital....not without multiple shots and stitching, which is not the same result.

Anyway....a bit off topic for my thread....

My parents, friends parents and all....all have TONS of old negatives...that I am currently harvesting to digitize....

Most folks I know kept the negatives....

Recently got Canon's new RF 28-70mm f/2.8 IS STM lens. Nice and sharp. According to Canon it has L-quality optics and is fully weather-sealed.

So why no L designation? I guess because it only costs $1,099 list.

So I did some trolling of my own. I found a green rubber band, twisted some red twist ties along its length, and put it on the front of the lens where an L lens would have a red ring, to signify its "No-eL" status - Merry Christmas.

Only knock on this lens is that they cheaped out on manual focus: no separate focus ring, instead it's done with the Control Ring, with an AF-Control-MF slide switch, like on the tiny RF lenses like the RF 16mm. Fortunately, you can activate Full-time Manual Focus in the cameras' AF section of the setup menu, which lets you use the focusing ring while AF is on, as long as you keep the shutter button half pressed while doing that.

I’m the other way around, I value depth more than width for compact systems, since that’s what will decide the bag it will travel in.

For larger setups, I do actually value width, which is why the new 50VCM is more attractive to me than the 50 f/1.2L, that centimeter difference in diameter is a big deal.

Mine arrives Monday 11/4. I waited 59 days. Not bad

Yeah, I understood you meant that, but I noticed with my batteries that they don’t really change the SKUs on the items. For instance, both my batteries have the number 13435, despite having different capacities, and the 2600mAh version states the same number as well.

So I’d give it the benefit of the doubt…

It looks like getting a Mac laptop for the new job is a no go, so I’ll have to get my own before the next family trip, which will be around May. Enough time to do more research and watch for deals.

DxO and LR sees limited by the speed
of the Neural engine for denoising, so no big difference between any of the M4 variants.
Apple did specifically call out denoising in Davinci Resolve being realtime on M4 Max, that is something my low end M1 Ultra completely fails at.

Whichever model I get, it needs to have a fan, I’ve been using my wife’s M1 air during this weeks vacation and it thermally throttles hard when importing a lot of pictures (precapture, yay!) and once it’s hot, it stays hot. It takes about 10 seconds to load a 100% view, with both smart previews and 1:1 previews already present!

When I say ‘a lot of pictures’, I’m talking about this:
When using crop mode and cRAW, the R5II can easily sustain a 500 shot burst and the 100-500L is sharp enough to resolve details in the resulting 1 megapixel image:

We really need sarcasm tags in here. I’d say I understand the reason for a zoom that’s f/8 at the long end. The one lens like that I have, the RF 100-400, is very convenient for travel and delivers good IQ, so yes…I like it. But I don’t like f/8 lenses so much that I use the 2x TC behind my 600/4 all that often…

I did a reset of the Basic Settings, to avoid clearing the whole camera and the issue was resolved. I tried to recreate it, but now the Pan-Assist stayed white so I could go in and out without issue, so definitely a very weird bug..
