My hat's off to Sony for moving the entire camera industry forward as we all benefit.

I use Tamiya X-18 Semigloss black to touch up scratches on 1D bodies - drop it into the scratch using the tip of a toothpick and let gravity flow it out. You can thin it a touch with the Tamiya thinner to make it flow if needed.

Once dried, can't tell where the scratch was. I usually do it in a few thin layers until the scratch is filled up.

Testors sucked - couldn't ever get it match the texture of the original finish.

Again, it depends on what you shoot, but I guess you will miss the 17-70 range, 14mm is too wide for most things, though I understand wanting the 85L, I want that lens too, and I want the 100-400 II, if I had the budget I would get both as well, but if I had the 24-70 II I wouldn't sell it, unless you have the kit lens with the 600D, but of course you will lose sharpness, IQ, and low light capabilities, sorry I am not making this easier, but its really a tough decision.

Great observation! This is my most common focal lenght and I have used the 35mm f2 IS with great success and satisfaction, despite using my 24-70 f2.8L II more frequently than this lens.

Best what I found is to record on ssd with atoms ninja 2 with your 7d2 and then use black magic ssd dock to start editing without any delays and imposting files.

Talking about mini hdmi, you have a screw-on bracket coming with your 7d2. wJust use it with hdmi and it will never come loose.

I have never had any problems with hdmi connestion neither with my 5d3, nor with my 7d2 even without bracket. Just be careful and don't stress your gear for the sake of being a "pro".

Just a quick update to this topic:

I rented a 70d with EF 2,8/17-55.

Body felt good, no usability problems when coming from a 400d, but much more settings to be done for fine tuning.

Lens didn't convince me at all. I had high hopes because the lens is well regarded as a good performer, but sharpness was below my expectations.

So I got a 70d with Sigma 1,8/18-35 Art and this is a great combination. AF is snappy and lens is very sharp. That's a huge step forward in my little photo world

Combination though had a pretty obvious front focus which was easily corrected by the 70d's afma.

And here we are at the point that was the main concern when deciding between 70d and 760d. I wanted to make AF working fine with all lenses, the ones I have by now and the ones I will add in some time. So decision was easy at the end.

5DSR in the field

It would be an immediate buy for me if anything Canon releases directly competes with the RX100 iv.
4k, 960fps slowmo and everything included. Of course, they can up the game and make it a constant 1.8 aperture.
I would gladly fork over $1500 to $2000 for it... Though the cheaper the better. Also, can't be more than 1 year for it to be released.

I think in every 5D shot that ended up in the film had the sky replaced in post because it was completely clipped.

Second Unit DOP David Burr suggested the Olympus cameras because he had previously used a heap of them with great success on the movie The Cup.

Being full frame means it is easier to get a wider shot, especially with a 16-35mm.
C300, BlackMagic etc. are all smaller sensors, so not as good at getting really wide shots.
The less distortion the better, because there is going to be a lot of compositing going on.
Codex is too expensive to smash or fill with dust, dozens of them.
Camera budget is a tiny, tiny percentage of the film's overall budget.
Budget for throwaway action cams is a tiny percentage of that tiny percentage.
Even on a big film, the cost of the smallest camera item matters and is calculated.

I want to buy an Canon 600mm II 4.0 lens in the next few weeks. So I started looking where I get it at the lowest price. I saw, that in Italy some shops do offer this lens about 1500-2000€ cheaper than here in Germany.
Payment method over paypal (as I think is more safe than just bank transfer) is accepted in most online shops.
Can someone tell me, if this would be an good decision?

I agree with Mt Spokane, something is off. It looks like shutter shock or something is causing a pixel level blurring.

the last reasonable suggestion I've seen anywhere is the suggestion that it takes around 7 years for a lens to finalize from initial development.

(this was from nikon) ... even if it's quicker in canon land, it could be 5+ or more years away before it's completed and into manufacturing.

The number of shutter actuations should not be a issue, but the lens might be. A dusty AF sensor is possible, but unless you change the lens frequently in dusty air, its not likely.

As others noted, the 50mm f/1.4 is the first suspect. They tend to develop focusing issues from even a sight bump.

If its a problem, test the lens by putting the camera on a tripod, then take 10 photos of a high contrast object 4-6 ft away. Manually set the lens to infinity before each shot. If the focus varies a lot of the time, you have a issue somewhere. one or two photos not perfectly focused is normal. Try with a different lens if possible. If a second lens also has a high miss rate, then the camera AF sensor is suspect.

As far as your shutter goes, if it lasted to 60,000 shots, then the odds are that it will last the life of the camera.

Figures......I'm just getting used to the manual version and they come out with a new version.

No matter, I use the 14mm manual for nightscapes anyway. You can't use auto focus to find infinity on stars and most exposure times are going to be 30 seconds or less to avoid blurring, so there's my exposure data.

I shop at The Camera Store very regularly and Chris, as well as the other people there, always give honest feedback on each camera body, lens, and other equipment. They won't BS for the sake of selling something. They were quite hard on the Leica T, for example.

When I was having so much trouble with Canon and my faulty 1DX they went so far as to get their own Canon rep involved for me. The Camera Store has also helped me out before when a lens was out of its two week return window. They are absolutely, by far, the best camera retailer I have ever dealt with.

If I lived down in the U.S. right now I'd be ordering a boat load from them considering how crappy our Canadian dollar is and the fact that there is no import costs to buying camera equipment from here.
