Thanks for the advice ... I ordered the Eg-S screen. I will also be borrowing / renting the Zeiss 1.4 and see how it goes.

Absolutely ... when there is an issue with gear that costs thousands of dollars the customer has every right to compalin (doesn't matter if it is Canon or Nikon) ... my only problem is when people say that is "not a big deal" ... of course it is a big deal, it is our hard earned money and if there is a large scale problem people are bound to raise that issue, but that certainly does not mean we are "blowing it out of proportion".Studio1930 said:The Canon 1Ds3 had oil issues when they were new. They over oiled the mirror arms and high speed shooting (if you could call it that) would fling lots of oil all over the sensor. I had to send mine in to be cleans since it was waaaaay too much to attempt to clean up plus they had to remove some of the oil from the mirror arms. These things happen to all manufacturers.
Now the focusing problem of the 1Ds3 was a different issue that was worthy of complaining about. :-\

14mm on a fisheye is much wider than 14mm on a rectilinear lens:Harry68 said:I've tested the Canon 8-15F4 and the Canon 17-40F4. At the first one I always used the long end and with the second one I used the short end most of the time.
For me it is now clear that I need an objective starting with 14mm and ends at 24mm or 28mm. Less than 14mm is cutting the edges at full frame. For more than 24mm I can use my 24-70.
So I hope a 14-24 or 12-24 will come soon to the dealers.

Doesn't really matter (as long as you're buying direct from Amazon, not a 3rd party even if fulfilled by Amazon).

If spending $205 on a filter that produces green color cast in the corner hurts, imagine the Nikon D800 (costing around $3000) producing green "cast" cross the entire image.wopbv4 said:Hi,
I am rather disappointed with the HOYA 82 UV IR filter on the 16-35. There is a very clear green color cast in the corners.
At 205$, this hurts.
