Anyone with a 600mm II want to help me ID what these parts are?

This is an image from eBay, I've tried to contact the seller with little luck. Maybe you guys here know. I recently got a 600mm Mk II used but i suspect it's not complete. So I'm curious as to what the retail lens actually comes with. I found this picture on eBay which looks promising but I can't figure out what the two items in foreground are...

Namely, the black "strap" like thing on the bottom left and then white thing on the middle-right (in front of the lens strap).

My first thought was the white thing is the lens foot, but it doesn't look deep enough to be the default foot? Maybe it's a monopod foot? Does a 600mm II come with a monopod foot by default or is that an additional accessory?

As for the black thing, is that the carry strap for the case? The case itself looks to have attach points for a strap... does it by default come with a case strap?

Oh, and one more question, does the case itself have a serial number? I haven't found one... But that might say more about my poor perception than... ya know...

Canon executives say a lot more coming in 2019

In a recent interview with Imaging Resource, Canon executives said that a lot more is coming down the pipeline in 2019, they obviously didn’t get into specifics.
Imaging resources summarize:
My main takeaway from this discussion was that Canon will continue investing in photographic technology, saying that imaging is fundamental to everything that they do and that we should, therefore, expect to see significant developments in the photo arena over the next period of time. I have been concerned — as have others — by what it meant that the EOS-R and EOS-RP were built around the sensor from the EOS 5D Mark IV, a camera that’s now more than two-and-a-half years old. Without giving specifics, they did note that they had a lot in the pipeline for 2019, so it sounds like we can expect to see a lot more from Canon before the end of the year. ...

Severe color cast with the built in ND filter adapter?

This Amazon review seems to suggest that the built in ND filter adapter we've all been waiting for has a pretty bad color cast.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/R2E8SJDQGS/?tag=canorumo-20

Granted, the reviewer doesn't seem to know about long exposure noise reduction, so he could just as well have the white balance set to something weird.

More broadly, I always thought that people shied away from variable ND filters because sometimes they put lines or other artifacts into the image. Wouldn't this be the case with the adapter?

So what has become of the rumored EOS R and C200 video feature updates?

Prior to the latest announcements from Canon,  it was also rumoured that Canon would be adding 4.2.2. internally to the Canon Cinema EOS C200 and RAW video output to the Canon EOS R when using an external recorder such as the Atomos Ninja V.
The Canon EOS R raw recording may have originated with the following tweet from @CanonUSApro. Canon USA later backtracked and said they were talking about photography RAW, but that honestly made zero sense to us or anyone else.

As for 4:2:2 internal 4K being added to the Canon Cinema EOS C200, the person that sent that to us was correct about some other things, so we’re not sure what to make of it.
NAB doesn’t start until tomorrow, and the...

Patent: Lots of small, light and fast EF prime lenses

Canon is obviously still doing development on the EF lens mount. As the mount is likely going to live on for both DSLR users as well as cinema applications, as Canon’s cinema cameras also come in EF mount. That will likely continue for years to come, as the transition to the RF mount will likely take 5-10 years for mass acceptance.

Review: Canon EOS RP

Keith over at Northlight Images has completed his thorough review of the Canon EOS RP. I like reviews in which the reviewer is a working professional and bought the camera with their own money.
Keith gives the camera a mostly positive review, and most of what he has written I agree with.
From Northlight:
Canon’s EOS RP is an interesting mix of the advanced and the simple, with a definite nod to making it easy to use for people looking to move to a full frame camera.
It’s light and compact, weighing less than many entry-level DSLRs. It handles well with adapted Canon EF and other lenses, although at the time of writing, the selection of native RF lenses are mostly at the higher end, and definitely not at what most would call ‘consumer level’.
As a long time Canon DSLR user, I found the camera really easy to get the hang of. There are more than enough controls and buttons for any use of the camera I’d likely make, and the range of customisation options are useful...

Canon engineers talk all things RF, DS and DO

DPReview had a chance to interview some senior engineers and planners at Canon to discuss all things lenses and the future.
Canon employees interviewed:

Manabu Kato – Head of EF + RF mount R&D
Yoichi Sato – EOS camera electronics R&D
Shogo Yamaguchi – Optical planning specialist

Some highlights from the interview:
How have you made the 70-200mm so small?
We were actually surprised as we started developing this particular product. The idea is that, with the introduction of the large diameter mount with the shorter back-focus distance, we were expecting it to be more suitable for designing wider-angle lenses, but it turned out to be very effective for designing this telephoto lens.
Can you give any insight into the DS technology?
With lens such as the 85mm F1.2 bokeh is a really important factor, because it’s a portrait...
