Show your Bird Portraits

There is definitely a very faint yellow in the throat, which would suggest the Audubon's subspecies. It is a hatch year bird and most likely a female as well. It could also be a hybrid with it being a cross between the subspecies, Mrytle and Audubon's. I assume this happens quite often where their range overlaps.
Nice to read your response here.

Something tells me you know your warblers...I do not, As stated previously, my ID here was based on a Google Image 'search'.

This morning I was fiddling around with my lawnmower (backyard) and heard an interesting bird.

So I fired up the Merlin Sound ID program...here's what came up.

...I'd say that's independent conformation of the Google-assisted ID.

Fun stuff!

EDIT (for clarity):

The yellow-rumped warbler was new to me on the Merlin app as well as my photos of our neighborhood birds (a couple of days previously).

I'm in Hawaii currently, on vacation, so fall warbler migration is finished for me, back in Wisconsin. I was able to find 25 warbler species this fall. I easily have hundreds that I edited, but I know you can only post so many on here. I'll include a link to see the rest of them, if you are interested. 7D mkll / EF 600 f4 ll / EF 1.4x lll.

Jeremy, I'll have to start using duct tape to strap my jaw while looking at your photos! Cheaper than visits to MF surgeons ;)
Wonderful photos, razor sharp and perfectly exposed. Thx for the link.

Thank you for the kind words! I love my warblers and try very hard to get them spring and fall.

I would think that some Yellow-rumped Warblers probably over winter by you. We have a few in Milwaukee County each winter as they eat juniper berries as a preferred winter food source. I enjoy seeing them in the snow, as they are supposed to be a spring/summer bird!

The rain did not deter this Western Bluebird from parking for a Coffeeberry.
