Show your Bird Portraits

Birds are so few and far between at present here. However, a Meadow Pipit flew by and I got a quick shot in full flight and one as it landed. It was too far away for 500mm on the R5 so I upscaled 4x in Topaz. I use the high fidelity setting as you can see too many artefacts in the low resolution setting and the images look plasticky.

Alan, you are still an excellent photographer. What's more, you're a very knowledgeable person, I read all your posts and I learn a lot from you.
Without a doubt, Alan is one of the few who consistently share impressive shots, knows about the dragonflies and birds as well as the technical math side of things which sadly I didn't care about learning when I was in school. I've learned a lot from his posts - even though I think my brain is not as quick to understand as when I was young.

It's not so much that the Pipit in flight is beautiful, it's that at my age I can still move fast enough to get the shot!
As usually you are very right! I hope in your age (in comparasing to my age it's a small difference BTW:)) I still will be able to take a photos like you!

Today it was catastrophic for the birds: I have not been on that place in this time of the Year (and after 2018 but it's very different talk: I was thinking I got lost! Huge changes!). First one is what I did today (and I +/- tried!!!:ROFLMAO:), after that some photos of the White-faced Ibis taken with D7200/Nikkor 200-500 in JUNE 2018 almost the same time of the day! - totally different light! The guys who know the Glossy Ibis will see the difference easy: red eye, red naked skin between the base of the bill and the eye - both features are not present in the Glossy!
