These are really great! It was a good day with the 800/11 on the R5 for Shorteared Owls in flight. They were far away and predictable in flight so I could manage the 800mm fov and the slightly slower AF. Best ones I've ever got of them - the 800/11 is a decent piece of kit.

I scrolled through the end and saw that nobody corrected you. These are Cedar Waxwing, which are quite common throughout the US. The Bohemian Waxwing, which has chestnut undertail coverts, is farther north in Canada but do push somewhat southward in the winter months. The waxwings in these photos have white undertail coverts.Set Two (of Four)

Unfortunately it is looking pretty much as a prank... Far before the AprilGreat shots(!) but don't think you have been so lucky! Look at this link to see what I call lucky (I was near to cry). If this is not set up story it should be the best decorated Christmas Tree (and the best Christmas gift if you want!) for the Year!!!

Beautiful, esp. the third one.I did make a company to my daughter today: she wanted to go hiking on a place with not much of interesting birds (her boyfriend is not much interested of hiking). Concentrated on the mushrooms after the rains and occasionally looking for birds. Just White-rumped Shamas: first one intentionally under-exposed. After that a bird trying to get some water (I think I was the obstacle but on other hand I was there before the bird
!) They naturally use to penis their tails when nervous but in this case it's a little bit to much: the wind is blowing from behind!
100% agree! And the warm color from the sun light is adding to it!Very nice with the snow in the background.
