CanonNews discovered another patent detailing some interesting kit zooms that start off at the ultra wide-angle. It’s unknown if Canon would ever make such a lens, but the zoom range is very intriguing.
It’s also a lens that could double for a standard lens for APS-C. However, it would bigger than it would need to be since it’s designed to cover the full frame image circle.
This is the second patent found with these lenses, indicating to me at least, that there is active interest inside of Canon for this type of lens.
