100-400L on 70D?

I have a Canon 100-400L that is very sharp on my XTi. I would like to use it to shoot still photos and video of sitting small birds (warblers) or small birds moving about in vegetation (low light) on a to be purchased 70D. Do any of you who have posted the many fine bird photos on this forum have experience with a 100-400L on a 70D?
Your comments will be greatly appreciated.

You might see better high ISO shots, which I find is often the case when trying to use 400mm on a crop body.

You can use the lens on a 70D with a 2X TC and be able to autofocus using live view. That's only usefull for still subjects, but AF at f/11 is still a very good thing to have.

Thanks for the comments Mt Spokane Photography. I am looking for a configuration that will do autofocus which a 100-400L on a 70D with a teleconverter will not using the view finder. I have very little experience with live view, but for video I will need to start practicing.

No autofocus with a TC on the 70D. However, with a Kenko 1.4X TC, autofocus may work. The Kenko is not fully compatible with some lenses on the 70D when you use the AFMA feature, and you should be using AFMA. I don't have a full list of incompatible lenses, (its a very short list) the 100L is one that will lock up the camera with a Kenko TC, but the 100-400L is fine.
