5D MK 4 photos compared to MK3

I'm curious how average pictures or portraits compare between the 5D 4 & 5D 3.

Has anyone here done side by side comparisons or seen a web posting comparing the two. I've been frustrated by the red/magenta color cast in skin tone using my mk 3 and wonder if the mk4 offers any improvement.

Can't you just change temperature/tint in the PP? Or maybe create an ACR profile? I use to shoot Sony a lot, and to me the Canon colors are much more pleasing. Especially if you shoot Sony outdoors in a bunch of grass, then people have green faces, almost like aliens Takes a lot of tinkering to correct.

I would be interested when the pics are made side-by-side with some color checker and grey card around.

I admit some degree of my skintone challenges can be connected to my less than sterling mastery of Photoshop.
I'm careful about creating a custom white balance, and I often use the XRite Passport color checker, but I routinely find my self working to remove red and magenta from skin color. Since I own two mklll bodies I'd love to see pictures compared with the new camera to help decide if paying for the upgrade makes sense for me.

Very interesting, helpful, and frustrating comparison photos. The 5D MKlll example seems to reveal an excess of red in the skin color, especially compared to the others.

So can we presume that using an XRite Passport Color Checker all the bodies compared would have matching skin color ?

Individual cameras can have issues with colors, the 5D MK III is noted for great skin tones, so if yours is off, it might be a camera issue, or you may just see colors differently than others. I found that was true for me, after cataract surgery, all the colors were different.

I would expect the 5D MK IV to have very much the same skin tones, Canon does a lot of work to keep colors the same from camera model to camera model. Of course, if you are using raw, then your raw processor sets the colors, and it can be adjusted to calibrate the images to your liking. Lighting is another variable, and can throw things off.

It's the larger output size; 30 mp generates a greater enlarged image than 20. If you look at the 5Ds that is even "worse". If you reduced the 30 mp file to 20 it would look sharper than the 20, until you sharpen the 20....then you can sharpen the reduced 30. The larger file can resolve more but you lose most of it when you reduce.......so it goes on.
