Canon 6D + EF24-105L f/4

Hi everyone,

I saw today on CPW that the 6D & 24-105 went on sale for $1850 usd. Ive been shopping a 6D for a while now and just decided to wait until it hit about 1300. I bought my 5D mk II low when the 5DIII came out and got a good deal that way. I already have a 24-105 but the new one could be sold pretty easily. I think its a great carry around lens. So that would make the 6D in my price range. The thing im curious about is - Has anyone bought from BigValueInc before? have you had any problems? anything that other CR Forum member shouldbe aware of when purchasing from them? thanks for your help, Which has been a lot in the time ive read the forum.

I would not personally invest in any expensive gear from an unauthorized seller. I have no experience and have not looked into Canon's willingness to cover items under warranty, but for me it's not worth the risk.

I'm just guessing, but with launch of 7D ii and rumors of a new 6D ii holiday deals will come in under $2k for the bundle. This is what I'm hoping for!

I used CPW-street price twice. Both transactions were successful through Canon US authorized dealer. Came with Canon 1yr standard warranty. I would use CPW-street price AGAIN

I rather pay $150ish more just to ensure my purchases are NEW and from legit dealer. How often do we hear BVI selling new 6D & 5D III, but came with missing accessories... :

I bought my 6D/24-105 kit from BVI. It came factory sealed with US warranty card in the box. No complaints with BVI. Just note... they're not a listed Canon reseller. When I had to get service on my 6D when the power switch broke off after the second week of owning it (cracked from the factory, I strongly suspect - probably during shipping), I had a lot of difficulty getting Canon to fix it. They wanted $300 just to look into it. The savings I got on the package were washed out once I had to do the repair... I eventually - after a week or so of back and forth with them - got them to fix it at no cost, but they would not warranty the repair... whatever the h-ll that means?!?

If I had to do it over again, I'd probably still do the deal, but I might call BVI ahead of time to ensure that the camera I was buying is a fully sealed kit and not one that they took apart to sell the individual components.
