EOS 1D X and Lightroom 3.6

Hi

There is a chance that this is a stupid question but here goes. . . .

Can Lightroom 3.6 read 1D X RAW files? At present I have tried updating and installing ACR6.7, but still LR does not support 1D X files. I am reluctant at this stage to move to LR4.1 due to all the presets that I currently have setup in LR3.6. On that note, is there a easy way to transfer presets to LR4.1 from LR3.6.

I believe only Lr 4.1 will support 1DX, but not even with the current version of ACR...might be only included in the next ACR update.

I upgraded to LR 4.1 from 3.6 when I got my 5D MkIII last week. All my presets were transferred across without any intervention from me, not that I have too many presets anyway.

Thanks Kernuak. Thats interesting. I have not tried this, out of fear of the loss, but most of what i have read indicates that the presets are not carried over. Maybe this was the case with LR4 and has been corrected in LR4.1. I guess i should just save the current set and take the plunge.

It could just be that I have very few presets. The ones that are important to me are the metadata presets and they are carried over. The 7D sharpening preset also carried over. One thing to be aware of, the shadows/highlights sliders and lens correction sliders are different, so take a bit of getting used to. One option would be to download a trial to see how you get on.

You can get the free converter to concert the RAW files to DNG and then edit in LR3.6.

I have found a work around. I have not actually tried it yet but it should work.
