I have to confess, I did not read the small print, but I have a stack of genuine Canon LP-E4's from previous 1D's & 1Dx's (they work a treat, albeit with some limitations in the 1Dx2) and have just slotted one in to my 1Dx3.... NOTHING! Is the LP-E19 the only compatible battery?! I could power a small country with my LP-E4'S!

Are they fully charged and on what charger? I seem to remember there were battery and charger limitations going from LP-E4 to LP-E4N to LP-E19.

I sold all my LP-E4/N's with the cameras when I went to LP-E19's.

I don't have any original LP-E4 batteries but I do have a couple of LP-E4N left over from my 1DX and those work fine in my 1DX III. But I can confirm that the DC coupler from the 1DX (which also works fine in my 1DX II) is NOT recognized by the 1DX III. I suspect the newer Canon cameras are set up to also reject third party batteries.
