From NL, what might this include? Hope it hasn't been posted here yet.
"We're told (thanks) that Canon have been summoning inviting some people from dealers for a 'big' product launch within the 6-8 week timeframe. If so, expect to see some more serious leaks within the next couple of weeks. No details of just what was meant by 'big', since in PR speak that could be anything!"
http://www.northlight-images.co.uk/cameras/Canon_rumours.html

What I said in Photorumors about the same thing:

Citing byThom.com: "I expect to
see no more than two DSLRs launched in the remainder of 2013: the D400
and the D4x. The D4x seems to be almost a lock, with really only the
timing and the sensor choice being unknown at this point."

If Nikon happens to make another big MP camera it would definitely put a big pressure on Canon.

So I think this rumour is quite substantiated.

Get your check book out - time to get a third mortgage on the house ::)

The summer could be interesting. Any guesses?

High MP camera (1Dxs, 3D, ?)
7D M2?
70 D (though that does not merit so much attention)
Something else?

My first thought: Why in Netherlands? Is there some big Canon design center?

Don't want to get my hopes up, because it could be something like 7D2 and 70D, or similar.

But could be 1DsX with 60MP sensor. For $20k. With 10-200mm F2L IS Mark III. That makes coffee.

For many years the European HQ for Canon was in the Netherlands, most, if not all, those duties were moved to London in 2009 and on.

I get most of my gear delivered to Florida from B&H as a way of avoiding US sales tax, but unlike most people that do that I am not avoiding end use or State taxation because Florida is not the end destination.

Interestingly if you buy "duty free" cameras and lenses in St Thomas in the US Virgin Islands your warranty is not Canon USA covered, warranty repairs have to go back to Canon South America, well mine did until I did the work around. Canon South America is very slow and actually end up sending half their work to Canon USA anyway!

My comment about Canon European HQ previously being in the Netherlands was not a joke and I well understood the OP was referring to the Northern Lights site.

Now we can all resume the irony, satire and humour, sorry, in line with several previous threads I should have written humor. ;)
