Help needed-1DS CR2 and JPG differences

I suspect that the answer might be "RTFM", but I'm going to ask anyway...
When I shoot JPG's and CR2's, Bridge shows the CR2's as really, really underexposed(3-4 stops), and the JPG's are slightly over exposed
I've tried changing settings within bridge and on the camera-nothing seems to affect it.
Is this what everyone else experiences?
Is there a setting that I've missed?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but it's driving me nuts!
 
While I can't imagine the difference being quite as extreme as described, when you take a jpeg sometimes the camera will push the exposure a bit to look proper. The raw file, being the data the sensor captured, would not have this push unless you told your processor to do so.

It may be a sign that you are underexposing your images for some reason.
