Newsletter frequency daily?

I'm now getting the main site newsletter daily. 3 times the last 3 days. Sorry but that is just crazy and will make me unsubscribe.

I've been subscribed to the newsletter for years and it usually brings me back to the site. But why would I want a daily newsletter for Canon Rumors (or any site) in my emails? Do the marketing guys think that will help the site? Less is sometimes more. Sending a newsletter daily (with ads) will also ruin your deliverability.

Note that I'm not talking about forum emails. Those are transactional, and different. And I visit the forum almost daily, rather religiously.

EDIT: And not to be ungrateful, thanks for keeping the lights on here. Just pains me to see someone shoot themselves in the foot like this. I do hope it's just a fluke or misconfiguration and you'll get it figured out.

Al those "filler articles" just designed to attract clicks from internet-searches - or whatever it is (Haven't read any of them - the frequency tells me they cannot be very good - maybe AI-generated?) ? - We don't need to hear about them in newsletters.

I have also unsubscribed now.

I've tried to reach to the staff for this reason via contact form - no reaction after 1 week.
I've tried to mail to Craig directly - no reaction until now.
I know, he's no longer in responsibility, but I hope he still has influence.

I want newsletters, esp. about "breaking news".
But not that daily clickbait.

Give me one per week or one each 2 weeks. And extra newsletters for special events.

I'll wait a few days more, but if there's no reaction, I'll unscribe, too.

Really annoying topic :mad::mad::mad:

I've returned from my Pentecost holiday, CR continued to spam my inbox.

So I now unsubscribed, too. Pity!

I no longer have control over it. It's one of those things; if it continues past a few months, then it's working. Whatever "working" is.

I have two sites that I engage with through daily emails. A lot I have unsubscribed from.

Perhaps I can suggest an alternative subscription option. A once-a-week thing?

Thanks for your reply. I know and I fully understand.
I thought the new owners might still be listening to you...

I would really appreciate that. Thank you very much.
It would be in the interest of all sides.
But damage has already been done. Confidence was disappointed - not by you.
That should be re-earned - by the new owners.

It would be nice - if not neccessary -, if they would stand their ground here.

Done.

Damage is only done when no one listens and respects the issue.

Thanks!

Nobody (the new owners) listened for 2 months. That's really, really a whole lot in the virtual world.
But thank you, Craig, for paying attention now!

It hasn't been 2 months.... But there are about 100 things they're going through. This is all a big job.

I'm not sure where the contact form goes now. I'll find that out.

Those following Canon Rumors' RSS news feed, might/probably have a similar problem. Lots of annoying "noise" in the official news feed these days.

I have created a "stripped down" version of the official news feed, currently ignoring all posts in categories 'deal zone', 'dealzone', 'buyers guide', 'smart picks' & 'industry news' (I'm in doubt if 'from the vault' posts should be in my feed, but currently they are included).
For me, the modified news feed works really great. Find the feed at:

If you get FOMO by using this feed, you could maybe combine it with the (future?) weekly newsletter from CR?

Currently my modified news feed is only available in JSON Feed format. It is a newer news feed format than RSS and Atom, but supported by for example Feedly (which I use) and InoReader. If there's a need, I might also make an RSS-version of the feed available.
Feed is now available in both JSON Feed and RSS format.
