Aglet said:I'd LOVE to see some low cost FF options from either Co. at a lower price point than present by keeping the cameras simple and minimally featured but capable of great IQ. Problem is, that darn video feature keeps creeping into peoples' mindsets and that can handicap both price, IQ and overall stills performance.

I don't see how Nikon will possibly release this camera, except if they use a recycled D3X 24MP sensor.
It's a rumor and not likely to be true. Besides that, are you Canon or Nikon? I have the 5d2 and it's still one of the best cameras in the world. Believe that
lizarjuan said:I know this is at a rumors stage right now!? but will canon throw a curveball and launch a ff lower than 2000$ USD? i just recently bought my 5dmk2! dont know if return it ! and wait for it? or just dont bother!!! help!
- The price of the D600 is rumored to be very low - maybe as low as $1500.
- The sensor inside the D600 will probably be 24MP (made by Sony, modified by Nikon).
- The D600 will probably not have an internal AF motor, which means it will work only with AF-S lenses (just like the D3200 and D5100).
- The D600 will have HD video.
- Announcement before Photokina (September 2012).
- One or more low-priced f/4 lenses will be announced with the D600. For example, Nikon recently filed a patent for a 24-70mm f/3.5-4.5 full frame lens which seems to be designed for a cheaper FX DSLR body.

nearly nothing made before 2000 is worth it :I second that opinion. How gay would that be to NOT have a built in AF motor? There goes Nikon's compatibility with all older glass. Basically they're abandoning any lens made before the year 2000.

Even IF this such rumors come true in the future, I wouldn't go into panic mode about your 5D Mark 2 purchase. I think that at least in image quality for sure, the 5D Mark 2 will still be better than whatever new FF entry-level body. Remember, it still holds the title "5D" and would still not be considered "entry-level" right?

The first thing I did was pop in an EG-s focusing screen- focuses great to me. Pretty affordable set up & a nice pair to my 7D!
I'll continue to spend my money on glass...
