Hello everyone,
I have a Canon EF 100-400 Mark I that has 2 missing screws (YA2-0931) at the zoom lock ring. I purchased the lens as faulty as the ball bearings dropped due to loosening the ring too much which caused the zooming action to be very rough. What I did was that I took apart the lens and I was able to remove all of the ball bearings and the zooming action was back to normal. I visited my local Canon Service Centre and they gave me the 2 missing screws. I was also told that there is a plate that the screws are mounted to inside but is it missing from my lens. I have no clue how the plate looks like and I am hoping someone here knows how it looks or maybe where I can source for the plate.
