R6 Mark III Rumors – Announcement Very Soon?

So are we thinking the C50 sensor will basically be what this camera gets?
That is certainly the general expectation - which would be quite a change to the specs, moving away from the large number of FF bodies released at around 24MP (the R1, R3, R6, R6 II and R8) and would (purely in MP terms) be a replacement for the original EOS R.

so here are the expected improvements from the R6II to the R6III:

- 32MP sensor will have similar 40fps, DR and readout as before (18ms in photo mode) with higher res and slightly better ISO
- Digic X Accelerator improves AF, better pre-capture
- Canon Log 2, Full HDMI, in-camera LUTs, etc.
- 4k120p
- New codecs, C4k aspect ratio
- Colling grip support with vents
- 8.5-7.5 stop IBIS
- LP-E6P battery

There are a bit harder to guess:
- Still expecting dual SD slots to keep it at a lower price (maybe 2699$).
- Two way flip/tilt LCD was mentioned, would be nice (stays at 1.62M dots)
- EVF may move up to 5.76M dots

Overall, looks to be well-rounded, but nothing major.

If it has the tilt/flip LCD and 5.76M EVF i'm in, if one is missing I'm choosing R5 MK1 instead for less money.

It's so easy to quickly check settings with a top-LCD, not having to press any button or having to raise the camera to one's eye !.
After the 5D III, I never bought and never will buy a camera without this feature. Good for Canon, since it made me buy a second R5 II instead of an R6 II or III.
:sneaky:

The "Q" button lets one use the rear LCD for the same thing, with even more information displayed.

I do use the top LCD on my 5D Mark IV, 5D Mark III, and 7D Mark II quite a bit of I want to change Tv, Av, or ISO. But sometimes I prefer the rear screen with the "Q" button because it gives me an even more detailed view of how I have the camera set up. I think I could adapt to using the "Q" button all of the time if I had to.

Depends on how you carry your cameras. In my case, top LCD is a must!
Just a matter of personal preference!

Yeah, somewhat similar thoughts, recently got a brand new R5 for a very good price. (switched back from an R6II, which was also good)
The body has higher build quality, nicer handling, quieter shutter, CFexpress support.
On the other hand, there have been significant advancements in AF, video and other software-based features.

That's sure that once a camera will have both tilt/flip screen and top LCD it will be better but i don't see this happening before R5 MK3 at the earliest.
Until then we will have to choose our drawback... which is a shame, if R6 MK3 has the tilt/flip it should have been implemented into R5 MK2 released last year.

See how people can be different.
The tilt/flip screen is something I don't miss or need at all! :).
The only thing I "miss" in the R5 II is the R1's EVF, best EVF ever!

Over time I've become more and more annoyed with flip screens, just can't be as discreet or view the perspective nicely to level.
I almost envy the tilt screen on my niece's EOS M5 - but it's old now, and can only provide a very basic, sluggish mirrorless experience.

I'd love to check an R1. The high-res panel is surely good coupled to a fast sensor.
But does it have the same optics with barrel distortion as other Canon EVFs? Tried an R3 before, it was still there and didn't impress me. I prefer the EVF in an SL2, which isn't perfect either (noisy sensor) but still the best I've had so far. Funnily enough, an R8 EVF is smaller with more pixelation, but less distortion than an R6 II, so I don't agree with the reviews saying the latter is much better.

For discreet photography, a tilt screen is, in my opinion, certainly an advantage. Waist level photography, when you don't want to be seen taking a picture, is much easier with a tilt screen, far less visible than a flip screen. Rolleiflex style...
