"Juvenile Male (Green) Woodpecker". Concerning the lawn: you lucky one! The wild grass in the lawn is not something everyone can have... My favorite is the 1st one - mostly because of the grass in the back-ground!

More of the same. I think I already can write a "Short communication" about the strategy and tactics of approaching the Chestnut Munia !
First some Common Waxbills, after that juvenile White-rumped Shama and the Munias... Note that all Munias have some "obstacle" in front of them: even a small leaf in front of them (just to deteriorate my photos!!!) obviously is accepted as an "enough security" despite of the distance (4-5 meters)! The exception is the last one where I was hidden behind a small bush: I'm sure the bird was seeing only the front element of my lens and probably my legs below the knee!

Badly miss-guided by the forecast: 1-2 inches rain (60% probability) for the point in the mountains where I was aiming (Oahu Elepaio - low probability but by far more interesting). No rain in the mountains but I was already on the South Shore ! Nothing interesting on that place (after ~1.5 h) and I went back. Just before entering the car to go home- these two Saffron Finches!
