My favorite backyard bird in our area of the midwest (red bellied woodpecker):

These are rare in our neighborhood. I am glad that the Photoshop and Topaz tools were available for use here; they were essential.

I love woodpeckers. Very nice shots and good job with post-processing.

First time that I saw a common redstart in my garden. I've seen black redstarts before.
Her male partner didn't like paparazzi and I am still waiting to get a photo of him, too.
As my 5D4 was on CPS service, I had to use the 200D.
To keep the details, I put a limit to ISO 800 and worked with the Av mode.

Max, nice shots but are you sure it is the Common Redstart? Females of the Common and the Black are similar but the Common should have (much) paler throat breast and belly. Below is a female Black Redstart from Bulgaria.

I saw her several times together with a male c. redstart that is really easy to differ from a b. redstart.
And I know female b. redstarts that are much more gray than brown.
I wouldn’t bet a kidney but I feel quite sure.

A Blackstart was one of the few birds I got close to on our bird trip. On the other hand, I saw a Redstart at 60m.

It's easier to see the Black Start from closer distance - many of them are nesting in urban type areas and are kind of familiar with humans. The Common Redstart is an inhabitant of wooded (deciduous) areas and usually (exluding birds nesting in some parks!) is avoiding people. During the migration both birds could be seen in the same habitat and sometimes together...

When you can't get close the R7 and RF 800/11 certainly help, and I took them out yesterday. The only haul was a Great Tit and Reed Bunting who posed for me. However, I missed too many shots when walking around - either too close for the 6m mfd or too difficult to pin down with the narrow field of view.

Nicely done, Alan.

I especially like the Blackstart on the ground.

...a band on the right leg of the Great Tit? (Really a striking bird.)

A decent picture of a rather ordinary bird: the male resident of our front yard birdhouse, busy collecting for the nest inside the house.

What's interesting to me about this photo is that the image was acquired with an M6MkII, which is capable of WiFi image transfer to my iPhone 12 using a newly-improved (to me) Canon iOS app to facilitate the transfer.

Once on the phone, I prettied up the image with simple editing features within the iPhone Photos app.

=====

I recently purchased a Canon G620 six color MegaTank (dye) inkjet printer.

The Canon Print iOS app is straightforward to use, and as long as one uses Canon-branded paper, the G620 seems to produce good images... at least in my hands using Canon Pro Luster paper.

So, the image below was acquired with an iPhone; its subjects are two G620-printed pics (the images posted here to CR)--3.5 inches square, and the signal to initiate printing the two pics came from the same iPhone.

469A8B2C-AE63-4535-B2F4-14C6D0B391C4.jpeg

So the entire process producing the two small prints, from image acquisition to printing, as well as the upload to CR...did not involve use of a desktop or laptop computer.

Probably old hat to the young hipsters out there......but a new experience for yours truly.;)

Second walk. This time in a park full with people. In some cases I had to shoot against the light to avoid shooting against the people (in gloomy, sometimes drizzling day, sometimes sun for few minutes, windy...). The Saffron Finch is first year bird, still molting into adult plumage. The Golden Plovers (two different birds in ~10-15 min.) are already almost in their breeding plumage and preparing to go North.
