My favorite backyard bird in our area of the midwest (red bellied woodpecker):
These are rare in our neighborhood. I am glad that the Photoshop and Topaz tools were available for use here; they were essential.
Max, nice shots but are you sure it is the Common Redstart? Females of the Common and the Black are similar but the Common should have (much) paler throat breast and belly. Below is a female Black Redstart from Bulgaria.First time that I saw a common redstart in my garden. I've seen black redstarts before.
Her male partner didn't like paparazzi and I am still waiting to get a photo of him, too.
As my 5D4 was on CPS service, I had to use the 200D.
To keep the details, I put a limit to ISO 800 and worked with the Av mode.

"Non such colourfull birds in Germany just a brown dunnock." - they are cute their own way.Non such colourfull birds in Germany just a brown dunnock.
The IS of the R5 + Rf 100-500 + 1.4TC is a fantastic help for an unexperienced tele user like me.

Thanks Click!ISv and Nemorino,
I really like your series, guys.
I saw her several times together with a male c. redstart that is really easy to differ from a b. redstart.Max, nice shots but are you sure it is the Common Redstart? It's easier to see the Black Start from closer distance - many of them are nesting in urban type areas and are kind of familiar with humans. The Common Redstart is an inhabitant of wooded (deciduous) areas and usually (exluding birds nesting in some parks!) is avoiding people. During the migration both birds could be seen in the same habitat and sometimes together...A Blackstart was one of the few birds I got close to on our bird trip. On the other hand, I saw a Redstart at 60m.

...a band on the right leg of the Great Tit? (Really a striking bird.)When you can't get close the R7 and RF 800/11 certainly help, and I took them out yesterday. The only haul was a Great Tit and Reed Bunting who posed for me. However, I missed too many shots when walking around - either too close for the 6m mfd or too difficult to pin down with the narrow field of view.
