Majestic!Great crested grebe.
It was late in the day and a low sun easily gets the whites on these birds overexposed. So I exposed for the whites and hoped for the best. I brightened the crest a bit in post so it stood out some against the background and applied some sharpening.

Thank you!!! I feel like I’m pushing the limits of the 100-500 lens. I’m actually very close to lowering my FICO score and buying a 600f4! Hope the images even get better at a higher clipVery nice shot, birdman916.
It was lovely! After you pay back the debt, your score will be higher!Thank you!!! I feel like I’m pushing the limits of the 100-500 lens. I’m actually very close to lowering my FICO score and buying a 600f4! Hope the images even get better at a higher clip
Framed perfectlyToday I was going through some older pictures and found this one of a common blackbird, which is one of my favorite photos of the last years. Taken with the 750D (aka t6i, Kiss X8i) and the EF-S 55-250mm IS STM.

Thank you. I actually didn’t have much choice in framing the shot, as any slightly different position meant that I would either have a very dark background (where the bird wouldn’t really stand out) or I would have had other branches in front.Framed perfectly
Do it! I love using my EF 600mm f/4 III, and my wife hasn’t filed divorce papers over it.Thank you!!! I feel like I’m pushing the limits of the 100-500 lens. I’m actually very close to lowering my FICO score and buying a 600f4! Hope the images even get better at a higher clip

It turns out to be a Merlin, which are fairly rare here. I never thought I would get this close to a wild falcon, nor that my kids would be that close as well. I’m going to gloss over having a pane of glass in front of the bird
iPhone for the first pic, R5+100-500L for the second one, with a large scoop of DxO denoising.
