Having a large collection of mirror lenses, I have coveted the Minolta 250mm, f/5.6, but couldn't justify the asking price, so when TTArtisans just came out with a similar lens for a reasonable price, I had to give it a try. It is surprisingly good for a mirror and relatively easy to focus (don't miss the relatively part). I have been playing with it this afternoon and it holds up well even with the R7. Images need a shot of mid-band contrast as always with mirrors, but this is only 25 on "texture knob" so pretty mild as mirrors go. Almost 100% crop.

Fledgling White-Rump Shama: strangely skittish, adults were coming just few meters from me... The thing that I like in the second shot is that tiny feather on the beak - it was irresistible for me... I'm including the adult because I did read somewhere that in China (?) they do competitions for song and long tail for the Shamas. This one looks like with extra long tail?
After that the Red-billed Leiothrix: I have never seen such a concentration of them in one place!!! At one point of the trail I was literally surrounded by them! You see some and hear bunch of them from different directions! Just took few of the many shots of different individuals taken today!

Eurasian Wren, locked and loaded. R6, RF800/11

The bird kept going back and forth between its nest and a mossy tree stump, so in a rare fit of patience I set up my tripod and waited for the wren to return to its perch. I am starting to get more bird photos that are more than just 'bird on stick'.

Nesting Wren. R6, 800/11.

The same bird on the tree stump in question. Would you say that a resolution of roundabout 2900x3600 would be enough to make a paper print behind glass, 40cm x 50cm (16 x 20 inches or so), for my living room?
