Exactly what I was saying to entoman. Even with no "fancy" L-glass, etc, I would estimate $4K. And for that amount of money we would want L quality so there is the $6K estimate.To amplify this, I very much doubt the cost of a lens scales linearly with the area of the front element (which is what a "stop" of aperture correlates to). It probably goes up a great deal faster than that.
