It seems to me that the photos of astronaut were taken with the medium format film, not digital. However, I am intrigued by the shadows are not much dark, after all there is no atmosphere to reflect the sun's rays. Being the space is black, and not blue (above the atmosphere) which is reflecting light so that the shadows are not extremely black?
