  1. The forum has many different people on it with lots of viewpoints and discussion about workflow with the 5D2.

A few people on one sub-forum have offered advice that, for some specific types of encoding, FCP for Mac provides a quick and simple solution.

To post here that the response was not helpful to the person asking the question, you must

    1) Have an understanding of what is involved in what the original poster was attempting to do;

    2) Weigh the costs of the software/hardware involved. Not all video problems can be solved with software alone. Some specific tasks require expensive cards or systems.

    3) Be able to read the mind of the original poster to know whether s/he found the advice helpful.

The advice may have been unhelpful to you, but that’s no reason to bad-mouth a constructive forum on a rare topic that many people find valuable.

  2. Its the attitude. Someone asked for help on finding PC software and the owner of the web site trashed him. What a nice place to visit.

  3. The forum was not constructive, others were trying to help the person find editing software for his 5D2.

The moderator jumped in and made a reply that did not even relate to the question, and when others called him on it, he said, oh well, he should be using a Mac anyway.

This is not helpful to a person seeking help, the moderator didn’t even know he was in the PC forum, he later admitted, and then basically said you shouldn’t own a pc anyway.

  4. Photographer/Videographer on

As any forum you will find help, but also discussions. Many levels of knowledge and type of comments. You can not judge a site only by few posts.

I find Cinema5D to be a very nice one indeed.

Indeed, it has been one place to notify and spread a

PETITION TO CANON Inc. suggesting and requesting FULL MANUAL CONTROL for Movie mode and Other features also related to Still shooting, that can be implemented via FIRMWARE UPDATES.

Even if a Firmware update is really coming, the petition can help for future updates.

The ONLINE PETITION to CANON is here:

    http://www.petitiononline.com/5dmark2/petition.html

If you find ONE or More features suggested/requested to be necessary or benefit your shooting experience, please sign it.

It won’t take you more than just a minute to sign it, and have nothing to loose.

In 1 day it has been 200 people signing all over the world.

THE MORE PEOPLE SIGNATURES, THE MORE CHANCES WE HAVE to get one or more improvements.

    Thanks a lot in advance.
