I use a Garmin *** device to create a tracklog and use the Map module in Lightroom to add the coordinates from the tracklog to the images. This works fine when the time on your camera is in sync with the time of the *** device. I use the Camera connect app to sync the time of my camera to that of my smartphone (after some time the camera clock needs re-sync to remove the usually 2-3 minutes difference).

Do you mean “movie cropping”? That is described on page 219 of the advanced user guide, september 2020 edition for firmware 1.7.

The M6II is still my most used camera over my R8 full-frame because of its compactness. I will forever believe that Canon made a huge mistake with the way they handled the M series.

What is the best option for a high quality, pro-level memory card for the Canon R5 Mark II? I'm using it for wildlife, birds, action...still shots, though I may try some more video given the camera's video capabilities. Thanks in advance!

And you are not, looking at your example of the EF 50mm f/1.8 STM Double-Gauss (or Double Gauss, or double Gauss), which it is not.
So maybe start correcting yourself before blaming others for (potentially) wrong notation.

Event and action are, more often than not, two body scenarios.

What it really means is there is the performance that can be wrung out of a lens if you really, really know your lens. Know where in the image it works best and where it works worst and plan your photographs accordingly. Does f/1.8 make any difference at all vs f/2? At 14mm? If it does, can it be seen? How much longer or shorter are the exposures vs each other?

I'm still hoping to see a build in tele converter. I think it was the best move Nikon ever made for wildlife photography...

Only the n53 5G band overlands with the 2.4GHz band Canon uses, and only one company operates on that, in a very limited capacity. I'd be more worried about microwaves, consumer wifi access points and poorly shielded monitors.

My new equipment when travelling/hiking: R5 II + 15-35 ,second R5 II + RF 70-200f/4. Each camera on a Capture Peak clip mounted on the left and right backpack straps.This covers more than 95% of all situations.
In the bag, easily accessible: 100-500, 60 Leica R macro (sometimes) and, for cities, 24 TSE.

How much of the overheating issue in the R1 could be due to the card itself? It seems that some CFExpress Type B cards run hotter or cooler than others? I had the same issue with overheating with relatively minimal use indoors, with still shots.

They do look good. Unfortunately I’ve since discovered that remote shooting on the R5II using Camera Connect only works via Bluetooth or Wifi.

I had been hoping to use the USB-C cable to eliminate the lag you get using Camera Connect for remote shooting.

Might need to look to see what other apps allow for remote shooting of the R5II via USB-C.
