The Canon walkthrough video of the G7X is quite interesting. I noticed they mention manual focus peaking as a feature, not seen that mentioned anywhere thought it might interest some.

Apparently YES. Would be nice to get an update for the 5DIII since this not not a '1D series feature only' now. Clunky or not, usually in M I'm not changing setting rapidly although I understand some do. Still going to be quicker than using ML.

Really if you are OK with the sensor it has just about everything except WiFi and possibly not AF point metering (some conflicting reports on that, but it likely does not).

Min SS in auto ISO also like the 1Dx.

I thought I had moved on from APS-C, but after seeing this images, maybe not Obviously, we need to see some RAW files before passing final judgement.

This bodes well for the panel in the Dell UP2715K, can't wait for Displayport 1.3 to get to market so we can start using this resolution at 60hz.

At that point you're looking at the system as a whole and not the body itself.
The reason you would get a 7D2 over the D750 is that it's a Canon, you get the lenses, UI and controls, customer support. Nikon has been fixing a lot of the complaints people had, but in the long run I'll still take Canon's lens selection as a primary reason to stay with the system. They don't really show any signs of slowing down in the number of awesome lenses they produce.

The 7D2 seems like it will be a great action camera (although there is still the question over low light performance), but all else being equal (which it is not, of course) the D750 is the camera which would interest me far more. I'm not putting my Canon gear up for sale just yet, but I'll be looking forward to finding out what Canon has to offer when they release their next round of FF cameras. A 6D with AF and FPS comparable to the D750's sounds great to me (and I guess I'd take the D750 sensor too if it was on offer).

(OK, in anticipation that someone will say I could always just get a 5DIII, yes that is true, although it would be heavier, bigger and more expensive. Still, it's always an option.)

I've read everything there is about dot-tune and was very hopeful I could have the same success like lots of people who used it from countless forums.

Result? So inconsistent w/ my 70D and the 4 lens I have. Its good some find it useful and works for them, but for now I've reverted back to the 0's.

+1 I currently own 14/35/85/135 with a 100L Macro thrown in for good measure. The combination works well and provides good coverage. My 35mm f/2 IS is generally my walk around lens and I combine it with the 85 or 135 depending on how much reach I think I'll need.

My 5dmii macro shots are richer in detail than my 100d macro shots with the same lens. The convenience of feeling closer to your subject when composing with the 100d is beneficial in some cases. I try to keep the iso low and through clever use of flash you can get great results from each.

There were no rumors for a M at Photokina, but a new one might still appear in the next 6 months. The big market for them is in Asia, so a announcement in China at some future point seems likely.

I'd think that Canon would want that dual pixel sensor in the next new model, but Canon Marketing types may not.

Yes, we usually see the announcements about 8 or 9 pm here on the West Coast, but I did not bother to check last night.

I got to give mine a try this weekend, but just for a quick portrait session – my real intent with it is for architectural work where I often have flashes in other rooms or even outside. For portrait/product work it’s probably faster to just adjust power at the flash.

That said, for $50 I’m pretty impressed. My only real complaint is that the up/down buttons only do the 1/3 stop increments, I wish I could use them to quickly choose groups and have another button combo for fine tuning. Lack of AF doesn’t really bother me, as I use manual focus for my architectural work and my 6D usually finds focus regardless of the lighting. But everyone has their own uses and work flow. Seems like it wouldn’t have been hard to put AF in, but what do I know.

I’m sure I’ll end up buying another 560 III or two just for convenience, although I have no need for more flashes. It would have been nice to have them function in groups with the 602/603, but I’m sure the technology just wasn’t there (unless you used channels). For my work I can’t really see using more than 3 groups, and it’s not usually the absolute power of the lights as it is the ratio relative to the others. So 2 or 3 controllable lights should be sufficient, and the others can just be dummies.

OH, and Syed Naseer, the Director of Tronix Limited (Parent Company) seems to have come from Singapore.

I would imagine that for a good number of selfie shooters, this is desired. People take selfies to show that they are in a specific location. If the background is blurry, it removes some important information from the documentary type photograph.

Not every photographer wants blury backgrounds.
