Kipon first to announce third-party native RF mount lenses for the EOS R system

pls share some samples, especially curious what the bokeh is like
Will do! I agree the RF 16mm and 50mm are great for street snaps, and light and compact too.
I got my Kipon's from Map Camera. 24mm was mint used for 29800yen, and 75mm new for 27800yen. Very good deals on both. Seems it was their last one(s) in stock, as the 75mm is now listed as sold out. Probably selling their last items. The weak Japanese yen has made it hard for importers, and with the latest exchange rates it is probably hard to sell a MF lens for 70000-100000yen in Japan. The build quality is very good, will post samples soon.

with the price of RF L glass might as well jump to Fuji gfx?

I much enjoying purchase studies than actually owning the gear.

Ok, I buy this MF camera system... shoot!! I need relearn muscle memory for different button placements & menu system that is FujiFILM-only.
If I get the 100S, it would be used for very deliberate shooting, mainly on a tripod and shooting landscapes, so no reliance upon muscle memory. Often most settings would be manual, including focus. I would still use my DSLR for almost everything else.

Industry News: Fujifilm to launch the GFX 100S this month

What is surprising to me is the reviews I've been reading not being happy with the ISO performance.

IIRC larger photosites on the image sensor means more exposure to light.

As the image sensor has a crop factor of 0.79x then shouldn't it suck in light with little noise?

So far, I have had no complaints on the ISO performance.

I have the GFX100, not the 100S, but I believe they have the exact same sensor....

Industry News: Fujifilm Introduces the flagship X-H2S

The question is: does Canon want to try to be the king of aps-c or not? They may well be content with the $1,500 price point as their top level camera in this format and focus on higher margin full frame cameras and lenses.
Just look at yesterdays announcement of XH2, will be waiting for review of that beast.

RF70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM Firmware Update, Version 1.1.1

Found it on Canon Canada:

Firmware Version 1.1.1 incorporates the following fix:
1. Fixes an issue, in which, in rare instances, "Err60" is displayed if zoom operations are performed when the camera is started.
Thanks. I'd put this in the "when I get around to it" category.

The state of third-party lenses for the RF mount, Canon may be involved

Every rumor here has not been true. And 3rd party manufacturers make and sell apple parts and accessories.
I had no idea there were 3rd party lens makers for Apple cameras, aside from clip on add-ons that do not require any proprietary disclosures from Apple.

As far as accessories go, just about any strap, case, screen protector manufacturer makes a product for Canon. No input is required from Canon to make them. In other words, Canon does not have to go to those factories to show them how Canon does it. Canon doesn't have to help them beat Canon.

Newbie Problem: Shivering/Flickering in Videos

Can you post a short sample of the flickering somewhere (e.g. youtube, vimeo, some cloud drive) to give everyone a better idea of what you're seeing?
Thanks for replying to my question. The problem has been solved.
I got help on site at the F1 race from an TV camera operator. I did not know that I have to reduce the shutter speed to 1/50s respectively 1/100s if I use 50 Frames/s. This problem has been solved.
The next one with immens brightness I could just solve partially by closing aperture. Next time I will fetch an filter to reduce brightness.

SIGMA will address the RF mount in 2022 [CR3]

As neuro has also pointed out, for some lenses like the Sigma 12-24 and the Canon 11-24, the need for an adapter is actually an advantage because it provides a more robust option for filters than even existed when the lens was originally designed.
Well I never said no one has a use for them, simply that many don’t want to deal with an adapter. For example I wouldn’t wouldn’t use a lens that can’t take front filters and I personally wouldn’t bother with old EF lenses when there’s newer third party options being released constantly.

The state of home printers in 2022

Hello. I had those issues with older Epson 3800 and exchanged it for the P900 when there was a good deal on it. This P900 one is working quite well. I only print a few pages every month and for the past 10 months that I've owned the P900, I haven't experienced any clogged nozzles nor color bleeding. So far so good.
I have used an Epson R3000 for some years now. I had clogging and cleaning issues with earlier Epsons, but not this one. I sometimes go weeks without printing with it. (I have an HP Laserjet for everyday B&W.) When starting up yesterday, it seemed to take forever to run through cycles, and then even longer to start to print. I trust that means it is cleaning out whatever has dried and then running tests until clear. Anyway, it works like that is what is happening. Ink is getting harder to get. Epson’s site had it in stock, but when I tried to place my order, the web page would go into some loop about correcting the format of my address to suit the USPS, and then wouldn’t let me make changes. So I went to Amazon’s site, and ordered the Light Magenta I will soon need. The other colors were priced $15 higher, so I didn’t get the two others I would have ordered from Epson. Printing out of Photoshop, when I choose “Printer manages color,” I get great prints. If I need to get a newer model, I’m tempted to get one that adds purple ink. I took a shot at dark when sailing out of Venice. The print looks great. (Copies hang in three states.) But maybe purple ink will let the sky be the kind of inky black more like I see on the screen rather than the blacker black of the print. But I’ll look into those issues only when replacing ink gets to be too much of a pain. (And since they weren’t shipping by USPS anyway, I don’t see why they couldn’t just deal with the address of mine in their system that they have used for years and years.)

Singapore Trip

Get a selfie at https://www.jewelchangiairport.com/en/attractions/rain-vortex.html

If you're not vegetarian eat Hainanese chicken rice

Eat here too https://www.foodandwine.com/news/michelin-hawker-chan-stall-singapore-loses-star eve if they lost a Mischelin star it should still be good.

Last time I bought camera gear was during the 2010 Singapore GP from https://www.cathayphoto.com.sg/

Email them in advance that you're a tourist who wants to buy camera gear so they'll give you a discount.

Although from my perspective it isn't the region's cheapest territory to buy gear.

Last time I was there was a few months prior to COVID lockdown.
Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!
