Canon EF 20mm Clicking Aperture

Just picked up a Canon EF 20mm f2.8 second hand nearly mint condition in box for my R6 and loving it so far but it clicks when I adjust the aperture. I’ve had a fair few EFS, EF RF lenses and never noticed any do that before.

It seems to work and It is a 30yr old lens design. Just wondered if anyone else has experience with a copy and if it was normal? Thanks in advance.

Canon R6 Hdmi Monitor Output

Hi all. I'll buy Canon R6 but just read some hdmi output problems (for me),wanna just ask to all and then buy. I'll use the camera for video shooting and need to do this setup; There'll be a director's monitor with hdmi connection and also i have to use the camera from camera's lcd and record it to camera sd card. I read some comments that when the camera send clean hdmi video to director's monitor, recording to sd card in camera but i cant see anything on camera lcd screen. Or using both lcd screen and the director's monitor same time (has an image with camera display) but no sd card record. Is it R6's feature or not? Thanks for read, i'll buy the camera after your replys.

Review: Canon RF-S 18-45mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM

Bryan at The-Digital-Picture has completed his review of the Canon RF-S 18-45mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM, the brand new “kit” lens for the EOS R7 and EOS R10.
Bryan has also completed his review of the Canon RF-S 18-150mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM.
From the review of the Canon RF-S 18-45mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM
This lens is tiny, measuring only 1.7″ (44.3mm) in length and mostly 2.5″ (62.4mm) in width.
The 4.6 oz (130g) weight is barely noticeable.
While the focal length range is not especially long, it has the most-used focal lengths included.
This lens produces decent image quality and physically performs well. It even has image stabilization that coordinates with IBIS.
Everyone will love that the price tag is lower than any other Canon RF mount...

Review: Canon RF-S 18-150mm F3.5-6.3 IS STM

Bryan at The-Digital-Picture has completed his review of the brand new Canon RF-S 18-150mm F3.5-6.3 IS STM, a versatile zoom lens for the Canon EOS R7 and Canon EOS R10.
At only $499, this should be a very popular lens for Canon, and it looks like it performs as one would expect at this pricepoint from Canon.
From the review of the Canon RF-S 18-150mm F3.5-6.3 IS STM:
When a lens features an exceptionally long focal length range, I always question the image quality it will deliver as compromises are usually involved. While this lens does not provide outstanding image sharpness, it does produce good images, and image quality is not everything. Sometimes having the right focal length immediately available gets a shot that an optically superior lens not mounted completely misses.
Don’t forget the fun of...

It explains why Nikon & Canon are not spending any more R&D resources to further develop future dSLR bodies, lenses & accessories while still manufacturing existing SKUs based on demand.

@CR Team: Why adding ads to an ad free account?

Hi @CR Team!

I know you want and need to earn money.
That's why I paid for an ad free forum and a "Pro" account, so you got my money.

So why that ad at that absolutely stupid and annoying position?

Please stop that or return my money. Thank you.

By the way: I also see an ad when I log in and change to forums. Annoying, too.

Yours,
Maximilian

RF 16mm f/2.8 STM

Don’t see a thread yet for folks to share images from the above referenced lens. Just picked this up. Thought I’d create a home. Feel free to share your favorites captured with this little ultra wide.

My first two, just testing it out.

I can tell I need to be mindful of my shutter speed with no image stabilization in the lens or in my RP. I think the corrections work great In DPP4.

Teleconverters 1.4X - 6.0X (Are they providing more detail?) on a 600mm F4 IS mII

Go easy on me, I did this for fun. Getting into bird photography, I acquired a 600mm F4 IS II and a 1.4X and 2.0X vIII Converters. I really enjoy the set. Of course I saw the Fro Knows Photo YouTube video saying Teleconverters are bad (mostly). So I decided to run some tests. But I also came across the TellPlus 3.0X converter on ebay and figured hey why not try it.

Location: So at Great Falls National Park there You can view the Falls from The East or West river banks. It's humorous because you sort of look across at the people on the others side. They are approximately 550' away. And there was his blond guy who looked a little like me. And he was wearing Sunglasses with a RayBan Logo.

Shooting: Shooting with a Canon R5 and Canon EF to RF converter. Manual with Auto ISO, f4 (or widest Aperture) and 1/2000. All Focusing was AF. I shot about 10 photos of each combo and picked the sharpest.

Post Processing: I cropped the photo to just his head, and then uprezzed the photo so all were the same 2000 pixels wide.

Canon U.S.A. Introduces PowerShot PICK Active Tracking PTZ Camera To U.S. Market

Many of us find that capturing content can interrupt the moment, resulting in a forced posed look. The PowerShot PICK can be the solution. Its face-detecting and tracking technology helps ensure that smiles and more can be detected, when set up through the corresponding app, and the PowerShot PICK will automatically move its camera to capture it all.
Previously, the product saw great success with a leading crowdfunding platform in Japan. Due to that success, Canon collaborated with Indiegogo, a similar platform in the United States, which now leads to the official introduction of the PowerShot PICK in the United States.

Specs and pics of RF 24mm Macro and RF15-30mm

Just saw Digi-came posted photos and specifications of 2 upcoming RF lenses. If that 24mm STM lens comes in under 400-500$ mark(IF would be desirable) it would be desirable for herp and flower photography. Even rumoured .5x mag ratio for 15-30mm if its for wide end would be great replacement for Venus Laowa 15mm Macro. Eagerly waiting for official announcement.
