Any thing Shot with a 5ds/r

So much for shutter speeds of 2x focal length! I didn't have a ND filter or tripod with me to shoot at a slow shutter speed for smooth water, so I experimented with stopping down and bracing myself against a rock wall to get the slowest shutter speed possible. Reasonably sharp at 1/4 second hand held. Canon's IS is very good.

Hello everyone!

This is my first post here, so please be gentle ;)

Let me begin by expressing my admiration for everyone's work here, in fact this thread was one of the driving factors that made me choose the 5DSR. So, thank you, I guess.

Here are some of the results I got out of this stunning camera.

Thanks for sharing Quarantasei. Very nice images and again, it clearly shows that there are few limits to what you can do with this camera.

And welcome to CR. Keep posting :)

What pushed me towards the 5DSR, to a certain degree at least, were the many people that said you couldn't do action/sports with it. It was sometimes, it seemed, religiously repeated.

Maybe what everybody wants to say is, the camera's strengths are not especially tailored towards action and sports (mainly FPS, otherwise I don't see any fault), of course you can still do it.
It's such a great allround camera.

This is obviously coming from a hobbyist, which I think most of us are. Professionals might have slightly different requirements (capturing high FPS, faster workflow).

Thank you very much. Will do!

I'm using the 5Ds since it's release and I honestly think it performs okay.
DR and ISO could be better in my Opinion. I did the upgrade from the 5D MK. II and I think I will either jump on the upcoming 5D MK iv or make the switch to Sony.

Here is a variety of Images shot with the 5Ds. Please Note that all Images went to a full Retouch Process.

Just returned from Iceland. A fantastic country with sceneries you will struggle to find elsewhere. This is the spectacular waterfall Aldeyarfoss waterfall, with its unique rock formations, on north eastern Iceland.

Great shot Eldar. Good to see that you weren't caught up in rain and fog all the time :)

Thanks guys. We didn´t have fog and rain every day. This shows what Iceland can look like, fishing the river Svartá.

For the fourth time in five years, we have hiked the 19km/12mile Aurlandsdalen trail. Rated as one of Norway´s 10 top hiking trails, just as fantastic this year as the previous ones. My legs were more broken than before though.
This is the magnificent view of Sinjarheim, a mountain farm, established around the year 1600. The view is spectacular, but I wonder how anyone could make a living in a place like this ...
To get a sense of scale, I suggest you enlarge the area around the farm and go from there.

Great shots, Eldar.
Love the dynamic of the water in the the last shot. My next toy will definitely be an ND filter.

Normally I am not a landscape/city guy so the following pic may be bad for the experienced people, but I enjoyed venturing into a different area of photography. This is definitely something I want to do more of in the future.
