Sounds like another Canonitis then...

sounds like an idiot speaking.

you can't expect to increase the sensor size, decrease size and weight and also at the same time expand / keep the lens the same.

the three just don't physically happen on this planet , possibly universe.

Maybe they do in an unreality bubble ;)

That's my worry on the aps-c sized Powershot. If it's as big as say an M6 with kit lens then there's not as much point in it - unless the lens is faster and really stellar.

Dimensions (W x H x D) of the G1x mkII: 4.58 x 2.91 x 2.61 in. / 116.3 x 74.0 x 66.2mm
(from https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/products/details/cameras/point-and-shoot/advanced-cameras/powershot-g1-x-mark-ii)

I have to assume the mkIII will not stray far from that.

That one had a 24–120mm f/2-f/3.9 lens with a 1.5in sensor.
The mkIII rumor/guess is a 24-120 f/2-f/5.6 with a slightly bigger aps-c sensor.

75mm is noticeably longer than 45 or 50mm.
A kit 15-45 f/3.5-f/6.3 or 16-50 f/3.5-5.6 is also a stop slower than the rumored lens for the G1x mkIII over equivalent range, so it's not a valid comparison.

Sorry you feel that way...again 3.5 years in the making, doesn't appear Canon has made much advancement.

Canonitis

Noun/Latin Origin
– To never go the full step you really need to innovate and take over the market.
