EOS M3 - Will it be Available Outside of Japan?

I know most are excited about the new 5Ds/R and 11-24 f/4, but I'm interested in the M3 as well, especially with the rumor that it will be sold in a kit with the EVF.

Are there any rumors/news about geographic availability? Since this is a Japanese trade show, it could very well be that they are only announcing it for Japan.

Not long to wait, as the rumored announcement is tomorrow. If it's announced in Japan and/or London, but not by Canon USA later (sometimes later in the day, 5a, 6a or even noon EST), then most likely it's not coming here.

I hope it does come here...

I know they skipped us for the M2 but I doubt we get skipped for the M3. This is a whole new beast with a 24MP sensor like the new 750 that Canon has never employed before. Obviously mirrorless has become more popular here in the last couple years. I hope this also means the 55-200 EFM comes here too. I've got the M. I really like it! I've even got the Canon FD lens adapter for it! It's so fun using my old A1 lenses

Just got the Adorama email blast – 5Ds, 5DsR, 11-24/4, T6i, T6s, nothing about the M3. :-\

I did too. I wouldn't put much stock in it. The M3 is obviously no where near as big a release as those bodies here. Take it with a grain of salt for now and wait a couple days before we render judgement, Neuro. Keep the faith!

Bummer, no US release.

What's to prevent us from ordering from Canon-Europe or Amazon-UK or Amazon-Fr and having it shipped here????

Nothing but increased taxes/shipping????

??? ???
I'm hoping Canada will get it because with NAFTA there are no customs/fees, and with the recent currency fluctuations, the US dollar gives us a nice discount. That's where I got my 11-22 IS. Hopefully the price will drop, however as I think it's pretty high right now.

Well, usually a 600E camera is priced 600$ in the US! Besides, in Europe and Canada you often find better deals in stores compared to the online listings. In USA, it's the other way. The fire sales have a different nature in the US. Finally, promoting a product in the US market provides more attention looking at the international media production map.

Why not book a flight to some exiting city in Europe and buy the camera in a shop ;-)

Paying full price for something that would retail cheaper if it was sold in the US and have no warranty?
In other words, paying more than retail for a gray market product!
