The first one (Mycena sp.) is really a great shot. The second is Mycena too... The third is Pluteus sp. and is as difficult to ID to species by photo - same as the other two! Are you using in camera stacking or some external program: your stacked photos are always from very good to excellent?

Thank You!
Are you using in camera stacking or some external program:
I use helicon focus to render the images.

Love the Jelly in the last shot especially!
If You like jelly You might like also those:
Maybe a Tremella globispora

I can't tell what species of Tremella they are but I like the photos (but not jelly...)

No birds on that trail today... When I was thinking I will go home empty-handed (just in the last ~10 min.!!!) I saw these. I don't know what kind of Bolete it is, it grows on, and only on that trail (so far what I have seen...), and is not mentioned in any article/book about the Hawaiian mushrooms.
I had (or maybe not!!!) to remove a piece of wood in front of the smaller fruit-body and damage it little bit. On other hand it shows no blueish-brown bruising on that place. The well known for Hawaii Pulveroboletus xylophilus has no net on the stem and is bruising when damaged!

Didn't You ask about the Laowa 25mm? I needed some time to search for images I took
and "making-of-images" I took with my smartphone.
It is a smaller lens compaired to the Canon MPE 65 and not as easy to use as"normal" macro lenses due to the high magnification.
A tripod and a macro rail is highly recommended. I bought it for less then 400€, a black friday deal last year. This made the good value for money even better.

Unfortunately it's the only second lygnicolous Boletus that I have seen growing on the top of a trunk (crevices full with soil) and I think the first one was the Pulveroboletus xylophylus, not this one. They by default grow on the base of the trunk. I mean you usually are getting photos like the firs one. Anyway, I'm always happy to see something like these around - they are by far not common...

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and set-up! Yes, I tried to edit my old post, and things didn't go as planned ...

I need to invest in a decent rail, as opposed to the crappy one I currently have.

Your set-up in the 2nd last picture looks hair-raising!!

It's gloomy and time to time rainy here. I expect more stuff to grow! For now only this Coprinellus disseminatus... Next time maybe with a macro attached.

Do you have any trouble with your tripod vibration? I purchased a FEISOL 3441, but it vibrates so much for focus stacking something like 40 on an mp-e 65 because I have to make the adjustments and wait at least 5 seconds. For something on ef 100 macro, it's ok

If you use the center column: do not extend it too much, i.e. 10-15 centimeters. You can attach something heavy to the hook of the center column to increase the mass to dampen out vibrations. I use spikes on the tripod legs and push them into the ground for extra grip.

The center column definitely is something I hadn't thought about but is obvious now that you told me. Thanks!
