Is it free or captive (wings clipped?).

It was in the zoo in a closed aviary, so it was captive.
I cannot remember if the wings were clipped. I'm not sure if I saw the wings spread.

Managed to get out yesterday for some photos. Reed Bunting R5 + 100-500mm, Eurasian Goldfinch R5 + 800/11.

Comparison for those who are interested, shots of a Little Owl very far away with the 800/11 (top) vs 100-500mm + 2xTC (bottom) on R5. Image of owl only 500 px high so looking at the extremes. Not much in it but I think AF on the 800 is better.

It was a good day with the 800/11 on the R5 for Shorteared Owls in flight. They were far away and predictable in flight so I could manage the 800mm fov and the slightly slower AF. Best ones I've ever got of them - the 800/11 is a decent piece of kit.
