One of my local parks along the lake, was a hotspot during November. It is a county park, but there are a couple of feeders, near a parking lot. The feeders have been there for over 10 years. It can be very good at times, especially with inclement weather or during migration. There were a couple of rare birds, Spotted Towhee and Red Crossbill, along with a few uncommon ones, Tufted Titmouse, Purple Finch, and Pine Siskin. There were also numerous common birds, all of which made it an extremely fun place to spend hours with a camera. 7D mkll / EF600 f4 ll / 1.4x lll

First I was thinking Stock Dove but the dark tips of the bills are saying Rock Dove! At this angle of view it's tricky! I notice that even that concrete (or what ever is it) is moving from that much love

I haven't seen a Bohemian Waxwing since Feb 2017 but fortunately we have some visiting again this year. After driving backwards and forwards to various locations without success, we struck gold just before dusk this evening. These shots are crops taken at iso 32000 with the RF 100-500mm on the R7! I had to be quick because they fed for less than a minute and were off.

I think it is a kind of Rowan, maybe a Kashmir Rowan.

I have a place near me I can see several hundred for a week or two. The little buggers came early and cleaned out the berries and I missed them.

Very overcast but better light today than yesterday and I could get away with only iso 3200 with the R7 + RF 100-500mm to get some closer up views of a Waxwing (closer to iso 4-5k as I had underexposed by about 0.6ev). 100% crops as usual. The eyeAF worked very well. (These are at least as sharp as I got 6 years ago with the 5DSR + 400mm D0 II + 1.4x TC in bright sun at iso 640 and faster shutter speeds). the R7 + 100-500mm is growing on me. Maybe I should get a second R7 for when my wife takes hers back.

I am strange and think it's amusing that many people in my area have excessive pride, yet it's not uncommon to find trash like that. Graffiti also not rare to see on large rocks or trees.

It was a good day with the 800/11 on the R5 for Shorteared Owls in flight. They were far away and predictable in flight so I could manage the 800mm fov and the slightly slower AF. Best ones I've ever got of them - the 800/11 is a decent piece of kit.
