Yo Wicked, just tested it and yes you are correct about the green light, it does also slightly flicker my red selected focus point. I wish the 5d had an option to always have the focus point on in red, i have a hard time using the focus point settings it has to get what i want. The 1d settings i have is the red square focus point is always on.wickidwombat said:Bosman said:Correct but its new to me since i have a gen one 5D and a 1dm3. I'll have ot see if i can do that on the 1Dm3 but i doubt it. Cool feature!danski0224 said:wickidwombat said:yep i noticed that too and the veiwfinder is sooooo much better for manual focus, I'm not really worried about changing screens in this one it has a much more 1D feel to it for MFBosman said:I couldnt agree more about the manual focus. I just discovered last night if you put your lens in manual focus and hold the shutter button while focussing when in focus to the point you want it will flash red letting you know it has achieved focus. Really cool feature!
Hmmm. The part about the focus screen is interesting.
The 5DII does the same thing in manual focus (beeps and illuminates a red square), correct?
I'm pretty sure on the 1Dmk3 the little green circle in the VF lights up when MF is achieved you dont get the actual AF point light up
