OK, so I just double checked the post heading and — silly me — no "24-" part, pure 105. Haha — I'm clearly under-coffee'd this week! You have earned the right to say silly things at me.Sure, a VCM lens may have IS at some point, e.g. given the rumors I´d imagine a 20-70mm F2.8 L IS VCM. But that is not the point. The VCM hybrid prime line-up share design features:
- size
- weight
- F1.4 aperture
- aperture ring
- same filter thread
- IRIS control
- no IS
Therefore, it is highly unlikely that Canon would change the feature with the seventh and final lens (well, we are hoping for a 28mm F1.4 VCM) of this line-up. It would just raise the question:
why don't the others have IS? Furthermore, it would contradict making them lightweight.
Now that I'm back on Earth, yeah — totally agreed with you. No IS.
