Mushrooms And Fungi Of Any Kind

With the people in the BG I'd prefer the 52 frames stack
For this reason I prefer the stack of 53 frames because people in that are unusual.

One mushroom, three lenses, four stacks
You might notice the different look of the mushroom with changing focal length

Pleurotus djamor (aka the pink oyster mushroom). On the Internet most of the photos are from (the real) pink to exaggerated red and beyond. On Oahu (and I think all other Hawaiian Islands) there is no pink morph (or none have been reported).

Fascinating shape.

About (not) nice photos:
I think the bg is fully okay. Of course, one could do stacking to get shallow DOF and better bokeh in the bg.
But that is not my style of photography.
The only thing that distracts me in this photo is the bright twig in th fg.
I would have removed it before taking the photo.
But others say, that nature should be left as it is... also a good point of view.

I didn't choose the right photo: it's even not sharp enough, I took it on my way back after getting photos of the bird that make's me to torture my old body on that trail! Here is another one on my way up (with very little hope I will see that bird at all:)). Little bit different angle/distance, very different light. The twig is still there but maybe because it is at the same angle as the shade at least for me it's not that disturbing.

I prefer this one. The interplay of light and shadow adds something extra.
Same here!
As the bg is darker now, it is even better.
My opinion about the twig is still the same, but it is you and your photo and that's all that counts :)
