The Grid: Canon 1DX mark with Rudy Winston, Peter Miller, and Damian Strohmeyer

The two guys who shot the super bowl with the 1DX mark ii were on an episode of the grid. It is a difficult video to watch because it is so very long. However if you have an extra hour in your day and want to hear everything you possibly can about the new 1DX mark ii then here is the link:

If you don't want to watch it, here is what I found relevant (most I already knew):
-14 fps is noticeable and desired over 12 fps
-High ISO is noticeably better with much less chroma noise than the 1DX
-Autofocus is noticeably better with quicker acquisition than the 1DX
-Dynamic range is noticeably better with more details in the shadows
-There is something about the files that make them more pleasing with less need to adjust in post
-The colors are nicer and more vibrant, even at higher ISOs
-A mirrorless camera cannot replace a pro DSLR for sports photography

And what I found to be the most amazing thing is that a pro sports photographer shooting the super bowl uses the single center AF point to track subjects and get his shot, and the others agreed with him. All this talk of intelligent subject tracking and 3D tracking, but when it comes to a one of the best pros out there, the uses the center point only and manages to get amazing shots.
